I'm thinking about making a few base single card orders from Troll and Toad, what can i expect for a nm by their standards?

Pack fresh atleast?

I'm not looking for anything PSA would grade a gem 10 haha, just atleast pack fresh.

Are they a good investment? Base boosters are costing me a fortune lol.
 
Although this isn't really on feedback, I wouldn't buy Base holos from them - they are overpriced by a good amount.
 
I've only purchased from T&T once, but it was a great experience. They shipped very quickly (especially considering I live in Canada).

I ordered a Mewtwo-EX FA, Mewtwo-EX, B&W Pikachu 115/114 and a _______'s Pikachu (Birthday Pikachu Promo).

Both Mewtwo cards and the Birthday Pikachu card were pack fresh which made me very happy! The Pikachu 115/114 had a good sized dent/scratch on the front, however you take that risk when purchasing "collectible" items from them.

If you just want playable cards for your deck(s), they are a great place to go. If they advertise Near Mint to Mint, from what I have heard, that's what you will receive. For the most part their prices are current (although some sites will beat their prices on certain cards). They shipped my cards in a bubble envelope in a small plastic pouch next to a top loader.

I will be ordering from them again!

PS: For comparison, I placed similar orders with T&T, Stop2Shop and PokeOrder. The T&T order arrived in 4-5 days, the Stop2Shop order arrived in 14 days, and the PokeOrder order has yet to arrive (24 days and counting).

While we're on the topic, though, I'd also recommend the Beckett Marketplace. Very cheap, and great condition as well.
 
I wouldn't expect pack-fresh cards from Base set from TnT. You typically need to get those on eBay.

I've had great experiences with TnT but their olders cards are often below NM.

Does Beckett ship in protective sleeves? Are the cards in better condition than T&T?

I'm looking for mint cards for my book, T&T does not sound like the place.

Beckett doesn't promise mint cards from what i can see. Where the heck should i go for mint base cards?
 
Ebay or in public for mint Base cards. That's pretty much it.

Or on here, but make sure to get photos/scans of the cards.
 
I have never had any problems with them whatsoever, which is more than I can say for basically any other card site that sells singles that I've used. I've ordered from them dozens of times.

Hello Torterror,

I have included general qualities of our *Near Mint* cards below.

(General)
A Near Mint card should look Mint but on closer inspection will have a minor flaw either on an edge, a corner, or its surface. A Near Mint card is allowed to have a few small dings or a small chip.
(Corners)
The corners on a Near Mint card should be crisp but one or two may have a small flaw such as a small ding.
(Centering)
A Near Mint card should be well centered.
(Edges)
The edges on a Near Mint card should be crisp, however they typically may have a small ding or two.
(Surface)
The surface of a Near Mint card should be very fresh looking but may have a tiny scratch.
(Typical Card)
Any unplayed card straight from a pack that might have some flaws associated with handling of the card.

I hate to be a necrophiliac with this post but I have a league challenge coming up Thursday and ordered from TnT today (I'm in the continental US)... Anyone think they'll get here by then with the "less than $10 cards" order?
 
It's possible, but from my experience I wouldn't hold my breath. I've placed 3 orders with them and I did get them all, but it there was about a two week gap between me ordering them and them showing up. Luckily the cards I ordered are basically nothing more than card dex dressing and nothing pressing like a league.

At least the most recent order showed up last Thursday, the closest equivalent to a birthday present.
 
Well... At least I will have one of my decks finished for the challenge, since I ordered what I needed for it from someone else, by Tuesday. My favorite one I wanted to play will depend on their seemingly lackadasical sense of urgency. Le sigh. Life sucks when your deck relies on very uncommon "common" cards. ~_~;

If my deck were dependent on Bunnelbys, Plusles, and Minuns, I'd be set.
 
Interestingly enough I bought a Tornadus EX from Troll and Toad (didn't really care about having one until Thundurus EX came out) but this was from their ebay store rather than their direct site. It showed up a lot sooner than it would have otherwise.
 
I haven't had any problems with Troll and Toad, any time I asked them to sleeve my cards they do. but normally I don't ask because their packaging is good enough for me.
 
I have noticed their packages seem to get arrive at their destination quicker when they're over a certain amount. Last two orders I did were close to 200 dollars and got here in less than a week. The other ones were far less and showed up in about two weeks.
