Expanded Turbo Metal

Hey, first time post so please forgive a
ny mistakes.

I'm more of a hobby player, and I've been trying to fix up my Expanded metal deck for a while. With the drop of Ultra Prism, I've got a bunch of new toys, but I'm also not well versed in the older cards. I wanted to run my current list by people and see if there are any choices I'm missing.

Pokemon
2x Magnemite (Ultra Prism Searching Magnet)
2x Magenzone (Ultra Prism)
2x Tapu Lele (Guardians Rising)
2x Registeel (Crimson Invasion)
2x Dusk Mane Necrozma GX (Ultra Prism)
1x Aegislash EX (Phantom Forces)
1x Magearna EX (Steam Siege)

Trainers/Items/Stadiums
4x Cynthia (Ultra Prism)
2x Lillie (Sun & Moon)
1x Professor Sycamore (XY Base)
2x Skyla (BREAKthrough)
2x Guzma (Sun & Moon)
1x Brigette (BREAKthrough)
2x VS Seeker (Roaring Skies)
3x Professor's Letters (XY Base)
4x Rare Candy (Sun & Moon)
4x Ultra Ball (Sun & Moon)
2x Energy Retrieval (Evolutions)
2x Float Stone (XY Base)
2x Field Blower (Guardian's Rising)
1x Rescue Stretcher (Guardian's Rising)
3x Mt Coronet (Ultra Prism)

Energy
4x Special Metal Energy (Undaunted Special Promo)
9x Metal Energy

Hope this comes out properly. Anyway, the basic idea is the same as the Standard metal decks floating around. I just wanted to know if there are any other Metal pokemon or Metal specific cards that I should think of including. Thanks in advance to everyone's input. I'm looking forward to seeing what suggestions there are!

hi, your list looks pretty solid but the only thing I would change would be:

-4 Special Metal Energy

+4 Metal Energy

The reason why I think you should change this is because you can't use Magnazone's ability on them to execrate energy, and you also can't use Mt. Coronet to recover them either. This is because the Shield energy only counts as a metal energy when attached to a Pokemon.

Another attacker that you could use is Genesect EX (The metal one) to do more damage for each metal energy attached to it that you discard.

Hope I helped. :)

Hey, thanks a bunch! I actually checked with a few professors, and since Magnezone doesn't specify BASIC metal energy, Magnezone is actually allowed to attach that specific one since it says it's a 'Special Metal Energy' right on the card.

It says that "This card can only be attached to a [M] Pokemon. This card Provides [M] Energy while attached to a [M] Pokemon" this means that Magnazone can't attach the Shield energy with it's ability because it only becomes [M] energy when attached to a pokemon.

Hey, no worries. I know it's a very corner-case card which is why I had to run it by those in charge

If you were to play those energy this wouldn't be an expanded deck, it would be an unlimited one, as expanded is currently Black and White onwards. Since your metal energy is from HeartGold and SoulSilver, it would be in an unlimited format, and I do not know of any leagues that currently do unlimited tournaments so you'd have to play this at home or with friends. If you dropped the Aegislash and the VS seeker, it would become a standard deck so if you wanted to do that as well you could. Here is Andrew Mahone's video on Dusk Mane Necrozma/Magnezone.
Hope I helped clear up a few things.

Any design of basic energy is allowed in standard/expanded tournaments, if I remember correctly.

Unless the card specifically says "Doesn't count as a basic energy card." As this is a special energy. You could use shield energy though, and that is expanded as well.

Eh, I only really play with my wife, so I'm not too concerned about the whole expanded/unlimited thing. But I do appreciate the differentiation, it's an important thing to know for others.

That being said, are there any old trainers or items that I should be looking at?
