Hey guys, this is my first time creating a thread.

Here is a deck list that I think is quite viable. It stars the new Turtonator-GX and with a combination of Energy denial and powerful attacks in Shell Trap (for early game), Bright Flame for OHKOs on 2-prize 'mons, and Nitro Tank GX for bringing back the discarded energy, it can go a long way.

Pokémon: 12
4x Turtonator-GX
2x Lurantis (SM25)
2x Fomantis
1x Gumshoos-GX
1x Yungoos
1x Oranguru
1x Tapu Lele-GX

Items: 20
3x Fighting Fury Belt
1x Eco Arm
3x Crushing Hammer
2x Enhanced Hammer
2x Field Blower
4x VS Seeker
4x Ultra Ball
1x Special Charge

Supporters: 17
3x Team Flare Grunt
1x Olympia
1x Brock's Grit
1x Team Skull Grunt
1x Professor Kukui
1x Hex Maniac
2x Judge
2x Ace Trainer
1x Delinquent
2x Professor Sycamore
2x Lysandre

Energy: 11

4x DCE
7x Fire Energy

I too run Turtonator GX in a few different decks and I find it to be a great in a variety of situations. However, 1 resulting action is that my opponent will just target another Pokémon and not directly my active, Shell Trap'ed Turtonator GX. So, it's not difficult to "play around" Turtonator GX or just not attack it when you have an attached Bursting Balloon. Further, a nice "soft" counter to Turtonator GX is Tauros GX.

I'd suggest replacing the entire Aloan Sandshrew line with Oranguru for supplemental card-draw support, Lurantis (SM25) which would provides a damage output boost for your Turtonator GX, and/or a Gumshoos GX line which would allow you to see your opponent's hand which would also help your your play, especially your Team Skull Grunt play, to be more effective.

Lastly, with the popularity of Field Blower, I suspect the Bursting Balloons will not be as effective as you expect. Consider replacing all of the Balloons with perhaps more effective cards, like Brock's Grit, Fighting Fury Belts, Olympia, R energy, etc

I hope you find these comments helpful.

Thank you very much: informative and helpful advice. I was myself questioning whether to use Shaymins, Oranguru or Sandslash to draw cards but I went with Sandslash originally.

I also get your point about the Bursting Balloons. There are just too many things that can get rid of them: especially Beedrill-EX which is being used in many Deciduplume decks.

@TuxedoBlack A little off topic, but have you considered pairing your Turntonator GX with Tauros GX in order to make that pick their poison in an "exactly which way do you want your active to die" choice?

On topic. This looks more like a control deck than a traditional mill deck. I would do a lot of what @TuxedoBlack is suggesting, but I would also incorporate at least 1 (preferably 2) Ace Trainers into your list. It is pretty likely you are going to be playing from behind and that card can work miracles. I would also work in at least 3 silent labs along with 2-3 red cards along with at least 1 Delinquent. If you are going to control the game in order to get them to deck out, you have to control their hand and force them to make rash decisions in order to get energy.

If this sounds like I am suggesting a deck pretty similar to Quad Lapras decks, it is because I am. I would probably take one of the more successful Quad Lapras lists and try to use it as a template. You can find a good starting list here.

Thank you for the advice. I did actually originally consider teching in Silent Lab as well as Ace Trainer, but I find that N usually does the job better thsn Ace Trainer, and there simply isn't enough room in the deck for a stadium.

It does work better as a control deck than a mill, which it was originally intended as. I will definitely attempt to tech in a Delinquent and maybe one Red Card.

Lol. Yes, in all cases where there is a Turtonator GX, so goeth a Tauros GX too waiting to be Ninja Boy'd into action.

N doesn't do a better job early though. That extra card that N provides after you lose one card can be crucial. Also, if you Ace Trainer and they don't hit anything, you can Delinquent the next turn to force them down to 1 card. Basically, what I am driving at is that there is a reason it is in virtually every Greninja list. :)

Nice list; I like the revisions.

Why no Stadiums (e.g., Altar of the Sunne)?

Lastly, I think:

  • Since you're running an Eco Arm, you could easily reduce your Fighting Fury Belt count to just 3.
  • 3 Team Flare Grunt seem excessive; you could easily reduce this count to just 2 (thank you VS Seeker).
  • 4 N definitely, to me at least, is unnecessary and ineffective. Remember that N will also replenish your opponent's hand which is not always a good thing. Consider replacing 1 or 2 Ns with either Ace Trainer, Judge, Professor Birch and/or Shauna. All of these can be quite effective at certain times during the game.
I plan to test this deck after this weekend; so, I'd be interested in any testing results you'll have too. Thanks in advance.

Tapu Lele-GX maybe a bit hard to get hold, but I'll try and I'm sure the rest of the deck won't be too much of a stretch.
