i just read somewhere in this site that a new version of tcg's are going to be released, new rules, new pokemons, featuring the pokemons in pearl and diamond....
but what i heard wasn't so clear, my tcg's are ex series and i'm worrying that when the new tcg's are realeased.....is it realy true?

For the next 6/7 months, you can use all cards you have now. Some rules will be altered, but that's all. Then, after worlds, some sets (Ex: Deoxys, Ex: Emerald, Ex: Unseen Forces and POSSIBLY Ex: Delta Species) will be gotten OUT of the format, thus disabling you from using them. But that's about it.

Also, for the new cards info, refer to the mainpage. They have a page there about the Diamond/Pearl updates and updated rules.

my cards are mostly from ex crystal guardians... for the nexth months.... after the new cards are released.... my cards cannot enter contests anymore?
uhmmm.... and how do ye put avatars here?

After October or something, cards from Deoxys to Delta Species are going to be banned.

Why care so much about your cards going to be banned or not.... Pokemon TCG cards from any set are not banned, is just not to be in the newest format for competition... I still keeping my 1st deck from the Base Set & I'm still playing with it...

I don't think anybody really knows which sets are going out at this time. From what I have seen most people seem to think it will be DS on at some point. So I think CG will be fine.

Ye agree with him. ^

Anyway, there not banned, just out of format. Don't worry, its not like you will have to chuck them away... you can still play with them but not in tournaments. Anyway, it also depends what country you live in, the new format only applies to some countries. DOn't worry at all, its ok to play with any cards you want.

^I am a she! lol. anyway, even if they do go out of format at least you can still play with your friends. Or you have the option of trading. Some people like to collect the older sets and play with them still.

Exactly! If you don't do tournaments, you'll be just fine. I also kept my Base and Fossil cards and play with them from time to time. In fact, in some ways, I prefer the oldies...

the best way is to make a deck that will survive the rotation (format rotation) like Delta, Flygon ex δ, banette ex deck...

and if u wanna keep up with the trend, trade the good cards of DX - UF/DS during nationals for DS/HP on cards!

i care so much because pokemon cards here are soo expensive! it's really rare to see a store selling pokemon cards. you wont even find them in the malls! that's the reason... but since a lot of people already answered and told me what will happen... i guess... my cards are still cool like others...

what country do you live in. I have to say, its the same over here, I know of one shop that sell pokemon cards within 40 miles of my area! THey are £2.99 here, and £7.99 a deck, to be honest its pretty expensive... so yeh, i understand what you mean.

My calculation: DX-on. Drop DX/EM/UF = DS-on. Drop DS/LM/HP = CG-on. Drop CG/DF/PK = DP-on

DX-on
DS-on
CG-on
DP-on

That'll drop each year 3 sets till DP. that's My Logic.

so that means: 1 September 2010 CG won't be Modified anymore.

That were my 2 Cents.

uhmmm... i live in philippines... and kids here almost forgot about pokemon cards except for some who still collect and plays. i think it's beacause they prefer to play yugioh cards coz' original copies here are really cheap compared to pokemon cards....

I can understand this because in england they are not exactly the cheapest of card games. Some delibrately boost the pokemon prices up here because it is not as popular as yu-gi-oh (grr!). I get a lot of stuff off ebay. So for the cards to not be playable in some cases can be devastating after you spent so much getting all the cards. I know people who have spent thousands on their favourite TCG.
