Umbreon GX's attack called Dark Call GX states, "Discard 2 Energy from your opponent's Pokemon." The card specifically does not say energy "cards". What would the ruling be on this scenario?

Your Umbreon GX uses Dark Call, your opponents only Pokemon has a basic grass energy card and a double colorless energy. Are you able to first designate the basic grass energy to be discarded and then designate the double colorless energy? Or can you ONLY discard either the basic energy or the double colorless energy?

from PokePop

You can discard 2 Energy cards from any of the Pokemon your opponent has in play.
You can discard one from one Pokemon and a second from a different one.
You can choose one energy from a Double Colorless energy attached to one Pokemon and then a second energy from another Double Colorless Energy attached to a different Pokemon (or the same one, if you wish).

so in your example you can select the grass and one of the 2 on the DCE, or both halves of the DCE, order doesn't really matter as they aren't discarded tell you've finished making your selection.

That's correct; a direct ruling from PokéPop. You could even discard 2 different DCE's if you'd like.

Thank you for the clarification. I'll be sure to check future rulings on PokePop next time I have questions.
