I was facing my friend and he used Unkown K. He kept removing damage counters from HIS pokemon. I told him he can only do it to MY pokemon, because my pokemon is the defending pokemon. He doesn't believe. Can we get some clarification please?

It says once during your turn you remove 2 damage counters from your 1 of your opponents Pokemon. This means it will help your opponent and not you. If you want your opponent to win this is the card to use but if you don't want him/her to win Do not use this card except to use hidden power.
