This is a Unlimited deck that my brother made some time ago, based around one of his favorite cards: Rising Rivals Leafeon! The deck has consistently beat my pats off since, and I thought that the community might be interested in it (And make it even better. :p)

Pokémon: 13
  • 4 Eevee (Furious Fists)
  • 3 Leafeon (Rising Rivals)
  • 2 Turtwig (Rising Rivals)
  • 1 Tropius (Rising Rivals)
  • 2 Minun (Furious Fists)
  • 1 Bouffalant (Dragons Exalted)
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums: 31
  • 4 Cheren (Emerging Powers)
  • 4 Tierno (XY Kalos Starting Set)
  • 1 Energy Search (Boundaries Crossed)
  • 3 Roller Skates (XY)
  • 3 Level Ball (Next Destinies)
  • 3 Super Potion (XY)
  • 3 Switch (XY Kalos Starting Set)
  • 4 Professor's Letter (XY)
  • 2 Energy Retrieval (Primal Clash)
  • 1 Pokémon Contest Hall (Rising Rivals)
  • 1 Pokémon Center (Next Destinies)
  • 2 Skyarrow Bridge (Next Destinies)
Energy: 16
  • 12 Grass Energy
  • 4 Herbal Energy
Strategy:

The point of the deck is energy acceleration to Leafeon to power it up and keep it in top condition. the amount of drawing cards in the deck allows it to drain most of the energy cards in the deck out, allowing for quick drawing into items that allow for the setting up of the deck. Note that the deck has a nasty habit of decking out in 20 or less turns; the deck pulls so much out of itself that it can only play for a short time after you get it set up.
One of the most important parts of the deck is that Leafeon's ability allows your Pokémon to heal when you attach energy to them, which allows you to keep them in top condition (and is a smack in the face to sniper decks). Add the fact that Leafeon has a attack that allows him to attach another energy from your hand to 1 of your Pokémon, and deals damage, the effects become game-changing. You can do all sorts of dangerous things, and minimize damage from your opponent. Some of the main ideas behind the cards are explained below:

1 Tropius (Rising Rivals):
This card plays great with Leafeon. It sets up quickly with him, and for 2 Grass Energy, can heal all damage on one of your Grass type Pokémon. This allows it to play all sorts of crud with your opponent: Get Tropius set up, switch him in with an Active Leafeon that's low on HP, heal the Leafeon completely, then bring that Leafeon back in next turn (for free with a Skyarrow Bridge) and heal up to 40 HP from Tropius.

1 Minun (Furious Fists), 1 Driftloon (Majestic Dawn):
These cards are used to recycle energy from your discards. That way, even if you have no energy in your hand, you can switch to one of the to, which results in energy from the discards, which allows you to cycle them back into your hand.

Other than that, I think that most of the uses for the cards are pretty straightforward. I will note that this deck is just made from what we had on hand. I know that there are plenty of better cards to use that strengthen the deck. That's what this is here for: So we can find the best cards for the deck to maximize it's potential. I also updated some of the cards to their most recent printing, because no needs to know or cares that one of the Energy Searches is from Majestic Dawn.

Please do leave your thoughts! There is still much untapped potential for this deck, and I would love (hate?) to see it become even better than it is now.

Good unlimited decks normally are one turn only or they are complete control decks both of which will shut your deck down completely and compared to nowadays standard decks it lacks power. It looks sound enough to do ok against other casual players and most decks nowadays deck out far faster then turn 20 that is not a problem.

Okay, makes sense. I also updated the list to the best cards available today. Are there any suggestions you would make to improve on the formula?

I've updated your original post to reflect the changes you made to your deck list. If you could just update the OP instead of posting a new list each time going forward, that would be great. Thanks!
