Unlimited-On Tri-Poisoning Darkness (Darkrai,Drapion)

Hey guys, I got into Pokemon TCG when the recent B/W set came out in April but on to the point.

This was my first deck I made, its come a long way trust me (it was even worse) but now I mostly use things that actually work like my favorite DonChamp and my in-progress Reshiboar. But I'm going to throw my deck list at you guys and see what else can be done to fix this atrocious monster.

Pokemon Total - 21
1 - 1 Darkrai Lv.X (3 MD - 104 GE)
3 - 2 - 2 Drapion Lv.X (76 MD - 15 SF - 123 Plat)
1 - 1 Umbreon (59 RR - 10 UD)
1 - 1 Zoroark (9Mcdonalds - 71BW)
2 Sableye (48 SF)
2 -2 Claydol (60 GE - 15GE)
1 - 1 Weezing (68GE - 31GE)

T/S/S Total - 25
3 Bebe's Search
4 Roseanne's Research
3 Professor Oak's New Theory
2 Pokemon Communication
4 Pokemon Catchers (with EP right around the corner I think why not)
3 Switch (Nice way to move Sableye out of the way if he doesn't die, plus with Pokemon Catcher out don't want my Darkrai or Claydol to get trapped in)
1 Luxury Ball
2 Flower Shop Lady
3 Broken Time-Space

Energy Total - 14
11 {D}
3 {C}{C}

Total - 60

Strategy: Hopefully start with Sableye and begin Impersonating. Darkrai Lv.X for bench tech. Drapion Lv.X for my front man monster and Tri-poisoning for consistent harrassment. Umbreon for Anti-Poke-power/body tech while Tri-poison does its job. Claydol for bench drawing tech. Weezing for increased poison damage, from 3 to 4 a turn (turning it into Crobats Severe Poison).

This deck has come a very long way already, I almost don't recognize it but I know its for the better.

Go nuts.

RE: Unlimited-On Darkness-Metal power (AbsolG,Dialga,Darkrai,Drapion)

Hmm this deck looks promising.
Knowing you've used this in battles, how many W&L are there so far?
Personally I do like the build of this deck but I'd like to know how well it does during the games.

RE: Unlimited-On Darkness-Metal power (AbsolG,Dialga,Darkrai,Drapion)

Its pretty slow compared to even other Unlimited decks.

I think my best streak with this was a 2-2 tournament I did, winning was a huge hassle and came down to the last prize cards each, while losing was being killed off in like turn 2 with no more basics, or without me being able to set up my staple Drapion or even powering up my Scizor.

It's probably just due to my inexperience but I have much more success with standard decks than this rogue.

RE: Unlimited-On Darkness-Metal power (AbsolG,Dialga,Darkrai,Drapion)

My friend actually runs a unlimted Drapion deck which is very annoying. he uses Drapion lvX, Darkrai lvX and Dark Dragonite (TRR). Main plan it to use Dark Dragonite and Pokemon Center to keep Drapion alive.

This however is a mash of alot of pokemon. I would drop Dialga lvX seeing as power is to situational to deserve a space in the deck and with you not playing switch it's going to be staying active (which also applies to darkrai lvX) unless you manually retreat it. plus Absol lvX requires you to burn through your own pokemon (which you can't bring back) just to deal 60 damage (not including special dark energy).

Because i have no idea where this deck is going, what you like to be able to do with this deck (within reason)

RE: Unlimited-On Darkness-Metal power (AbsolG,Dialga,Darkrai,Drapion)

So should I put in the Switch's or just take out my Lv.X bench techs? What about Honchkrow Lv.X? For a DCE he could do some mean bench sniping. But I think having him out instead of my Umbreon or Scizor techtanks will just slow me down.

At first this deck was, Hmm I'm new and want to build a Dark/Metal deck. So I did, very poorly. But now I think I want this to go in the direction of Tri-poison stalling with invulnerable Umbreon/Scizor tank. The Dialga's hurt me a lot more than help unfortunately so they are out. Taking out the Absol G as I want my main attackers to just absorb infinite damage. I think I need a thicker Drapion line to garentee my ability to get one out, and then switch him to the bench, or snipe their bench with him or paralysis stall. I should add another line of Scizor for consistency also. With the extra Drapion Lv.X, Skorupi and him both can use the DCE for 3 turn sniping setup instead of the 4 turns with the DDCC.

With Scizor only needing to Tank I should conserve the amount of Metal energy I have in this deck and play his Metal Scissors very conservetively.

Not sure what to do with my Expert Belts, they give my Umbreon/Scizor and little more beef and more damage, but giving the opponent two prizes seems redundant if I'm trying to stall them out.

-3 Dialga
-1 Dialga Lv.X
-3 Absol G
-1 Absol G Lv.X
-3 {M} Energy
-1 Burned Tower (With all my special energies this is useless)
-2 Rare Candies (Just remembered that these are useless for me since I have no Stage 2's)
-14

+3 Switch
+1 Drapion Lv.X
+1 Skorupi (To make a 3-2-2 line)
+1-1 Scizor
+1 DCE
+1 Level Max (To help me get my Lv.X on the bench from my deck)
+9

So I need more cards, preferably supporters so my Sableye's dont run out of things to impersonate. Any suggestions?

RE: Unlimited-On Darkness-Metal power (AbsolG,Dialga,Darkrai,Drapion)

Seeing as Drapion has the option of dicarding all special energy on the defending pokemon, the need for Scizor Prime becomes slight, and will just turn into dead weight. Drapion has quite a bit of HP so it can take a hit but in the Unlimted format you have access to alot of "speed" cards to allows for a quick set-up. Trim the fat, get rid of the cards that aren't incredibly useful or you can live without. To me that would be Scizor and you can get away with slimming the Darkrai line down to 1-1, though it does help with extra damage and it's attack can be very helpful to stall, it isn't the main focus of the deck. Umbreon does help wall certain threats and stall.

I would decide between using either a 1-1 Umbreon or a 1-1 Zoroark. ideally you want to slim addtitional techs down to the bare minimum. less different pokemon lines makes setting up alot easier. rough skeleton. There are alot of things you can do

3-3-1 Drapion lvX (or 3-2-2 )
1-1 Darkrai lvX (the Majestic Dawn Darkrai is hands-down the best Darkrai to use as a base)
2-2 Claydol (one of the best sources of draw power in the game)
1 Sableye SF

That's a basic pokemon list. if you are going to add a tech o some kind try to find one that benefits from Drapion or protects a weakness or some how supports Drapion, for example you have Toxicroak MT which has a poke-body which basically makes the only way of your opponent removing poison is to retreat, use a poke-power or T/S/S - evolving and leveling up don't work Weezing GE amplifies poison damage by 1 damage counter per Weezing.

4 Roseanne's Research
3 Bebe's Search
2 Pokemon Communication
1 Luxury Ball

1/2 Night Maintenance/Palmer's Contribution/Flower Shop Lady (any will do. They all help recover pokemon/energy)

2/3 Broken Time-Space
(not complete)

That's all the search power you really need but you can add more if you wish. With Broken Time Space you can set up your field (as can your opponent) quite quickly giving you the field advantage especially if you set up a T1 Drapion and Claydol. As for the energy, you need no more than 15.

Updated card list and thread title AND strategy.

I'm going to miss my Metal buddies, but I can always just throw them in another mess of a deck and try again.
