Pokemon "Unpopular" Pokémon You Like?

RE: Do you like any unpopular Pokémon?

Skrelp and Dragalge. They are two of the only pokemon I actually Somewhat LIKE from the X and Y region. Everyone I know personally though hate's them. I think they are actually a good, clever idea for a pokemon, something that hasn't been done before, y'know? We have enough repeats and rip-off of pokemon as it is. What are there, like 10 different electric mouse pokemon now? ;P

RE: Do you like any unpopular Pokémon?

Not many people seem to like Lickitung and Lickilicky. Too pink and phat, they say.
Poor guy always gets named after Miley Cyrus. And nobody really uses it for competitive play.

I have to give him some love. He's pretty adorbs, And although it sounds weird, I like the idea of a Pokemon using its tongue as a weapon. Recently, I've been thinking of breeding one for competitive use, or even try and MM one. His shiny makes him look like a lemon. A good lemon.

Nidorino. The first Pokémon card I ever owned was a shadowless nidorino from base set. I loved that card! I also had a figurine of nidorino as well.

The first Pokemon card I ever got was a Holofoil Lapras from Fossil. To this day, he's my favorite Ice-type Pokemon. I feel that Torkoal deserves a bit more love,

RE: Do you like any unpopular Pokémon?

The Vanillish line. The popular opinion seems to be "An ice cream Pokemon? Seriously?!" but I think they're cute.

I also remember people thinking Munna was weird when it was first revealed, another Pokemon I think is cute.

RE: Do you like any unpopular Pokémon?

As my username suggests, I love the Garbodor line. Just because they're not based off of organic life doesn't mean they're uncreative. Plus, I know why they look like that: GameFreak made their designs bad on purpose! According to Bulbapedia, Garbodor may represent how pollution can create undesirable life forms. At least they didn't make a Lab Raticate or Sewer Feraligatr.

Wobbuffet gets a lot of hate, but it is my fourth favorite for two reasons. One: It is hilarious in the anime! Two: Its design is inspired by so many things: punching bags, comedians, Japanese dolls, ect.

Klinklang is easily in my top ten as well. I'm a huge science nerd, and I love how it represents symbiosis despite being based off of an inorganic object. Also, the animations in X and Y are epic. However, the name could have been better. Klink + Klang = Klinklang? XD

Lastly, I also like Magikarp. Despite its frailty, it can still learn three damaging attacks (and Splash). Also, I love how they referenced Chinese mythology in its line.

Yeah I love him too
My response when I first saw it was actually " An ice cream Pokemon? Awesome! "

Its too bad they made its evolution bad in battling.

RE: Do you like any unpopular Pokémon?

Klinklang is a perfect name IMO. Machines don't grow organically, they are put together piece by piece. This theme is evident in the evolution line, but to also incoporate it into the name by soldering together Klink and Klang is genius. An underappreciated line for sure.

And yeah, Garbodor is one of my favourites. How is a trashbag anti-Totoro "unoriginal" (to quote the masses)?

RE: Do you like any unpopular Pokémon?

Regigigas, Klinklang, Magnezone, Zygarde, Charizard are underappreciated pokemon that I like. Charizard can be argued but more people think charizard sucks and is overrated compared to the people who actually like him.

Have I posted in this thread before? I don't know

RE: Do you like any unpopular Pokémon?

While not /disliked/, the Regis strike me as unpopular in that they are just /not liked/. It's uncommon to see them mentioned, which is especially peculiar given their legendary status. It may be because they don't even seem like Pokemon, in the 'traditional' sense; they are based off of neither an animal nor a plant, and they aren't furry and warm in the least. Unlike the Garbador and Vanillish lines, they aren't even all that 'weird', either. They look impersonal, mechanical, and detached, without being sleek, badass, and near-universally appealing, like Deoxys and Metagross. All of that may play into why many are indifferent to them, but those very traits are exactly why I love them--they're unusual and different in a way that is all their own.

I usually see registeel on some favorite lists and the occasional Regigigas fan, I just never see regice or regirock on any favorites lists. A shame, they are all really good and unique pokemon.

RE: "Unpopular" Pokemon You Like?

I actually really like the Regis. They're some of the most fascinating Pokemon. I remember wondering a lot about their origin story when Ruby and Sapphire came out, because it seemed like every group of legendaries except them had an official backstory about their creation or notable actions, or at least a movie dedicated to them. I also wondered whether the Braille on their faces acted as eyes.

Sceptile and it's former forms seems to earn a lot of hate. Same as Meganium and it's former forms. I can't understand why xD Meganium is simply cute. And Sceptile it my favourite Pokemon <3

Magicarp, Jinx,Dunsparce, Psyduck and Zubat aren't really popular either. Some of them are simply weak, some have a "ugly design" or some appear in every cave and wont let you walk. But still I like these four^^

Aceus is a special Pokemon.... Some would trade everyhing for one others hate the guts out of this Pokemon. For me it's just a majestic Pokemon, I like the design^^ The legendary status doesn't matter.

I like Zubat too. It's cute and reminds me of beanie babies.

The above poster also reminded me there are Pokemon players who don't like people that use legendaries and think they're "cheap", and have this elitist attitude of "Real Pokemon fans use their favorite Pokemon, not try to destroy everything with the strongest ones!" It's like they think you can't genuinely like a legendary for its design or backstory, and the only possible reason for someone using them is because they want to show off and/or "cheaply" beat everything.

Maractus, my friends seem to hate it and every time I say it in the list of my favorite Pokemon they're just like ugh, why?! I think it has a really cute design, it has cool abilities and I love grass types. It has a nice movepool too. I also like that it's not commonly used.

Maractus ftw. <3

Zubat - it's actually kinda cute;
Lickilicky - I think it looks better than Lickitung, and it was a good evolution for it. Don't understand why so many people dislike it;
Matter fact, most gen 4 evolutions that people usually complain about, I like them all. Maybe Magmortar could have been less fat, but it still looks cool with those arm-cannons...
Most pokémon based on innanimate objects like Garbodor, Vanilluxe, etc. I also like most of them (I even use Vanilluxe in my Black team), and I can't actually remember if there's any I don't - I only complain about Klinklang's not-very-different appearance from Klang, but I still like it.

One that I've seen get a lot of hate - Prinplup.
It's personally my favourite of the entire evolutionary line, it was always my favourite starter in D/P/Pt and I think it gets a lot more hate than it deserves.
Penguin Prince needs more love <3

RE: "Unpopular" Pokemon You Like?

I like Grandbull. I see some people complain about it because Snubbull is very cute and Grandbull is kind of well not cute. And its kind of generic, but I like Grandbull because of its simplicity. No fancy design.

I also like Swalot and Gulpin. Not sure if people dislike them of not. I just think Swalot and Gulpin are cute. Its the fish lips and the mustache.

I always loved these guys, and I never understood why they don't appeal to anyone. Their designs, in my opinion, are really creative, and whilst they may just be another fish they have some values like their access to several bug type moves.
In fairness, their stats - particularly lumineon - lack. I really hope in OR/AS we get a mega lumineon, and if not in future gen4 remakes. Don't be mean to the fish :)

Shroomish....

Look at it's facial expression! Every time I see one it makes me laugh.

Magikarp....

Pretty sure this underrated Pokemon evolves into a raging water-dragon. Who doesn't love raging water-dragons?
