Standard Updated Buzzwole-GX/Lycanroc-GX List for League Cup

I'm going to a League Cup this weekend and plan on taking an updated Buzzwole-GX/Lycanroc-GX list that I used to finish fourth place at the ARG Circuit Series last weekend. I posted about my experience over in the PTCG Competitive Play forum earlier this week so go and take a look at that if you'd like!

I felt that my list last weekend was incredibly strong, but still had room for improvement. I don't know if it was just bad luck, but my Max Elixirs were barely hitting. Even during my testing before the tournament last weekend, I was having issues with Max Elixir's consistency. For that reason I'd like to add a 10th Fighting Energy. My list also didn't run any Field Blower. If the deck has a fast start, I don't think it misses Field Blower too much, but I do think adding at least one copy is good for multiple reasons. My issue, however, is that my list is very tight and I don't know what to remove for the Fighting Energy and Field Blower.

EDIT: Updated list. I tried removing a Professor Sycamore and N to fit in the Energy and Field Blower, but didn't like the change so I put them back in. I do want to take a serious look at removing the Zygarde EX for a Watch and Learn Sudowoodo, as I believe Sudowoodo really helps in certain matchups, so I'll be testing that. I still wish I could find a spot for a 10th Energy to help Max Elixir's consistency, but it is what it is. Maybe I'll just start to have more luck hitting them!

Honestly, the deck could do without Multi Switch and Field Blower, as nice as they are. You need the Ns and Sycamores because if you lose Octillery late game, you're done. Even if you get a revenge KO, if you're not taking all of your remaining prizes before your Buzzwole goes down, you're likely losing that game. And that's actually a big problem with the deck that a lot of people complain about. I like the idea of 10 fighting, so I think I'll playtest that whenever.

That's a good point. I'll add the Sycamore and N back in. As much as I love Multi Switch, you're right. I think adding the 10th Energy to help Max Elixir's consistency is more important. Thanks for the help!

Rather than Field Blower, another option is to remove Rescue Stretcher in it's place. It depends on your play style, but I would rather remove Bands/ Float Stones and make my already existing Buzzwoles last longer. Totally player preference though

I like the utility of Rescue Stretcher. If I have a Rockruff on my bench and both Lycanroc in the discard, I can Rescue Stretcher for a Lycanroc and pull something up for a big KO, or I can grab an Octillery if needed. As much as I would like to squeeze in a Field Blower, I do think this deck can get away without it.

Hi HouchinsDJ,

Nice deck. Consider these modifications:

- 1 Multi Switch (not needed in this deck)
- 2 Parallel City (not needed that bad)

+ 1 Professor Sycamore (because you want to be fast and agressive)
+ 1 Lillie (gives the deck a perfect turn one supporter to hit strong energy and tools)
+ 1 Brooklet Hill (have at least three with no Brigette in the deck to thin the deck)

Hope this provides some initial assistance.

Okay, 100% drop Zygarde for Watch and Learn Sudowoodo. Being a dangerous 1 prizer that can put tremendous pressure on the opponent. And I actually really like Multi Switch in this deck. Since you've already predecided to put the Sycamore and N back in here, here's what I did: -2 Parallel City, + 1 Brooklet Hill, + 1 Multi Switch(keep in mind I'm referring to the revised list. I really like Parallel City, but I like consistency more.

I did put the fourth Professor Sycamore and N back in, I need to update my initial list!

I actually like the Lillie suggestion, seeing as how this deck doesn't have a designated Turn 1 Supporter, but I'd have to remove a Sycamore or N and I already tried running three of each and went back to four. I'll definitely think about it though!

I was actually thinking about including Sudowoodo as well! I went to League last night and played the mirror match and my opponent used it against me and it really made a difference The only problem is that I don't have one at the moment so unless I can find one today or tomorrow I'll have to keep Zygarde EX in. But I will be testing Sudowoodo out online.

I like Multi Switch too. It just gives you a chance, especially late game, to make a huge play and it's won me games I otherwise would've lost.

I'm currently running 3 Brooklet Hill and 1 Parallel and think it's the best split. It's actually what I ran at the ARG tournament last week. I dunno why I changed it. I still like one copy of Parallel City because not only can it limit your opponent, you can also use it on your own bench to deny your opponent's Lycanroc from getting a KO with their GX attack. It's made the difference a few games. I think 3 Brooklet Hill is enough, especially with all the other decks running it at the moment.

I'll update my list on here and will test the Sudowoodo out today and hopefully find one before Sunday!
