Using Pre-Evolutions

Okay, there's a lot to discuss with the new set, but what stuck out to me was the several ways that pre-evolutions are being made useful. We already have Celebi EX, which lets higher stages use the attacks of it's previous ones, but this new set gives us that in stadium form (Memory Shrine). The problem is that until now, there hasn't been many ways to take advantage of such abilities, but that has slowly changed with the release of megas and things like Night March and finally, primal traits.

Take Primal Groudon. It's trait (A barrier?) protects it from all opponents trainers. Hammers, lasers, Lysandre, and many other less played things become useless against this. Unfortunately, it's attack stinks. 4 energy for 100 unless you have a stadium to discard (in which case it's 200). But once you discard the stadium, 100, even with all the fighting support, is not that great, especially for 4 energy.

But for the same cost, Groudon EX does a straight 130, which with 2 strong energy, becomes 170, and 190 with an additional boost (either fighting stadium or muscle band). You also have a cheaper option with rip claw (FC 30 and coin flip to discard an energy), and you still have Primal Groudon's attack to take care of big threats. Essentially, you have a tank with massive HP and immunity to trainers. But you also get more diverse attacks.

Another one I could see being really good is the multistrike medicham. Multi Strike is a pretty broken ability that lets Pokemon who have it attack twice. To keep it balanced, it's attack is terrible, 2 energy for a mere 30 damage. However, it's basic, Mediate, can attack for just one energy (20). Add in a strong energy and muscle band, it becomes 60, and attacking twice, you're hitting for 120 a turn for just 1 energy. Add in some Machamps (FF) and you can easily have Medicham taking out EXes and even megas for just one energy.

I know there are other combos (feel free to post them), but those 2 stood out. For a lot of these, I think Celebi EX might be better than the stadium, especially for fighting decks which want to use fighting stadium to boost damage. But the stadium is a nice option for those not wanting to put a weak EX in the line of fire.

Another couple of ideas (both using megas), Gardevoir and Aggron. Gardevoir can shining wind against metal decks (YYY for 100 and no weakness next turn) or even life reeve (Y for 20 and healing equal to damage done). Aggron EX is terrible on it's own, but it does have an outrage style attack that can hit high numbers of damage without the risk of hurting your bench.
