Value of PTCGO Cards

Hi guys,

Recently I was playing the Pokemon TCG online and wanted to trade my Latias EX out to someone for their Charizard. They then told me that it wasn't a fair deal and that Latias EX was worth 1-2 packs, whilst Charizard EX was worth 3-4 packs online. I'm fairly new to the game and only play theme decks thus far, but how does one get to know their cards worth online?

I'm only speaking about the online version because they talk about a card's worth in terms of packs which I have no idea how to find.

When using PTCGO, many players use one of the pricing threads found on the official PTCGO Forums. The one that I like to use is "The Top Cut Trading Inc. 2" in the In-game Item Exchange section.
