At Tournaments and League and with my friends, we have different pronunciations for lots of Pokemon. I have compiled a list of the Pokemon with their more common pronunciations. This is also for the discussion of Pokemon pronunciation. The ones unchanged are pretty obvious.

I've only done the first generation. If this is a success I'll do more but it's not worth it if nobody is bothered. If you think I've missed something let me know! And remember this is also for discussing the pronunciation of Pokemon!
 
Thanks, I'll add the Fearow one, I've heard it said like that before but I might not add the Golem one because it's very similar to one up there. Do you want me to do more?

Or look up the etymology and follow the amalgamation of words.

Or the Japanese pronounciation. Regardless, you'll find the official one soon enough.
 
Yeah, but sometimes official sources like to disagree.

Like the whole 'Arceus' thing. I'm still calling it (ARR-soos), regardless of what the anime decided to call it.
 
Even on games like PBR, or the anime, names can still be pronounced incorrectly.
It's a bit weird. lol

I'll agree with most of the pronunciations of this thread..
Zenith is right about fearow, though.
 
I agree with Lieutenant Houndoom, search for the origin of the name/japanese pronounciation and you'll know the official pronounciation soon enough. Btw, threads like this have already been done a million times...

I usually pronounce it Gah-ra-dos. There are some pronounciations that make no sense out there, like people calling Buizel (Boo-zel)
 
I don't think there is any official pronounciation. The only way to tell is by the anime, but they always have weird pronounciations on the anime. They say Po-kay-mahn, I perfer po-kee-mon. It sonds less childish, and overexcited.

Well there are, but don't look to the anime. The anime is based of the games and has a different producer etc. The only way to tell is by looking to the origins of the names. (Although since Pokemon Battle Revolution is developed by GameFreak/Nintendo I think we could trust that too as an official source)

No, the anime says Po-kee-mon. It's the makers that say Po-kay-mahn. I myself prefer Po-kee-mon. The anime has some mistakes, including Pidgeot as Pi-jit. Strange enough? It's maybe their accent. Ar-kee-us now?

Of course, PBR can't be trusted as they say Ar-see-us rather than the horrible official pronounciation.

It could be just the accent though anyway.
