Strategy
  • The strategy of this deck is to take six prize cards with Genesect EX. Turn one I hopefully have either a Verizion EX or Colress Machine, a Skyla, Grass Energy, and a Genesect EX. That allows me to turn 1 Emerald Slash onto my Genesect EX. Turn 2 I have Genesect EX out and ready to do some damage. Deck plays really fast, and I've had a lot of trouble against Latias EX, but instead of running Glaceons I've put 4 Leafeons with energy crush that can do a lot of damage if played right. The Verizion's are in there for card draw power; like i said it's a fast deck so I want to constantly be drawing cards to keep me ahead of my opponent.

Colress Machine onto Virizion doesn't work unless it has a Plasma Badge on it
Damn, I forgot it wasn't team plasma. Thanks. I'll find room for some badges.

i'll be honest. This deck is not fast. I built a genesect/virzion deck before. And its really slow. It will always take at least 2 turns to charge up genesect. 3 turns if you start with virizion. Then you have to draw G-booster and then discard 2 energy which will then take at least 2 turns to recharge him, unless you have a keldeo/float stone going and you switch back to virzion.

You also have to be aware that victini with victory piece will wreck this deck. It can OHKO pretty much everything in your deck, first turn. You may want to add in plasma frigate into this deck to protect yourself from fire.

Also leafeon isnt all that helpful for your deck as it is for most decks. Since its mostly to provide grass coverage, but since all of your pokemon are grass it doesnt really matter. I would drop 4-4 Leafeon and add in 2/3x tropius. It does basically the same thing for 2 energy and it has 1 energy return that is basically a weaker version of tropical beach that does damage. Plus its a basic non plasma pokemon, so it doesnt get walled by silver mirror. For this same reason, double draw virizion isnt all that good either. Since Tropius once again does the same thing only better. Taking out the virizions would open up more cards for your deck.

That would make at least 8 more cards for you. It could easily be Virbank Laser combo, for 6 cards. Leaving you with 2 more.

I would also suggest getting rid of energy retrieval. You might as well use Super rod, since it allows you to put them back into your deck. Plus it also does the same for pokemon as well. One might be enough for your deck. Leaving you with now 3 cards left over.

Now you probably want to add 1 more juniper into your deck. Take out 3 Bianca, since tropius is basically the same thing. Then add in 3 N.

Now with the last 2 cards you could do a few things. I suggest Exp Share. it is very helpful. But you probably dont want to lose as many pokemon in a deck that only attacks with Genesect. could add another super rod. You probably also want a tool scrapper just incase of rock guard.

^ I agree entirely. This deck in particular needs some more speed, however, starting turn 2... 'Aint bad. Plus you have to keep in mind that Virizion itself does damage in its own right. With a laserbank up, you're two-hitting EXs that stayed up that last turn, plus, you're setting up your bench. That in itself is great.

I also fully agree on the Laserbank and the Scrappers, but the Scrappers for a different reason as no one runs Rock Guard: Silver Mirror. This thing makes your main attacker useless. Sure, attaching a Plasma from the hand or playing Catcher or attacking with Virizion for that matter solves this problem, but I think that this is still a major problem in this deck. For instance, what if you don't have the Tropius or Virizion powered up to attack in Genesect's stead that turn? You're dead in the water, all because of a tool card. I would definitely throw in one or two Scrappers.

yeah. But genesect isnt completely useless against mirrors. You can attack through it at least for 20 damage, or use g booster. Plus this deck can catcher around it if it needs to. With 4 catchers and 4 plasma energy that act as catcher it shouldnt be stuck attacking the same thing for too long. Though yeah tool scrapper is a must for any deck with a team plasma main attacker. Speaking of which this deck probably wants a shadow triad to get back G booster incase it gets scrapped away.

Ya i can see what you're saying. I took the Verizion's out already, just forgot to edit post. I swapped em for Plasma Badges. I'll take out all 4 Leafeons and Eevees for 8 cards, put in 3 Tropius, and take out the energy retrievals, and put in the virbank laser combo leaving me with 1 more card. I would use this 1 spot for super rod. I'll take out the Bianca's and add 3 N. I'll try and see where i could fit in tool scrappers, just not sure what to swap em for. thanks for suggestions
