What's the Difference between Modified and Non-Modified? What's the rules/limit. Me and my friends are thinking of going to our first pre-release next week. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
 
There are three formats:

Limited (Prereleases.)

Modified: A format where only certain sets are playable. These are:
-EX Holon Phantoms
-EX Crystal Guardians
-EX Dragon Frontiers
-EX Power Keppers
-Diamond and Pearl
-Diamond and Pearl-Mysterious Treasures
-Diamond and Pearl-Secret Wonders
-Diamond and Pearl-Great Encouters (Releases Feb. 13th.)
-POP Pack Series 4
-POP Pack Series 5
-POP Pack Series 6
-EX promos numbered 37 and up
-DP promos numbered 1 and up.

Unlimited:
Any card is legal, unless they say CAN'T BE USED IN TOURNAMENTS or are a World Chamiponships deck card.

So is limited the same thing as modified?


Also, how do they work the Tournaments at Prereleases? It says they give you 6 packs to make a 40 card deck.How does that work?
 
lol not so fresh.....

you make a 40 card deck with whatever cards you can use from those packs they supply the energies

but limited and modified dont apply to the prerealease since you cant use anything else besides the cards you get w/ those 6 packs
