Now Vespiquen died a while ago when it lost Muscle Band, Battle Compressor etc.

But it is now playable thanks to
  • Tapu Lele GX;
Can search for a supporter so you can be preferably searching using one every turn.
Also Energy Drive is for a Double Colorless (Which Vespiquen relies on) which deal with Espeon GX/M Mewtwo EX.
  • Choice Band; You can down the Pokemon count by around 3 and hit for numbers.
Why Choice Band helps so much... So Solgaleo/Lunala/Walord, usually Vespiquen decks run around 27 Pokemon to deal with this (You need 23 in discard to one hit these, except Wailord) now with Choice band you will only need 20 + Choice Band (1o if hitting for weakness from Vespiquen, Flareon, Vaporeon, Jolteon or Mew EX) which leaves you with more space to put in trainers such as tech in a Psychics Third Eye.

If you disagree say why below!

I disagree because I don't think Vespiquen was ever unplayable. Most of the variations I have seen on the deck are able to get around the early issues of not having enough pokemon discarded by going with some variant of Eeveelutions, Zoroark, Tauros, etc. If anything, the deck got better with this last set more because it has a nasty partner in crime named Garbodor. Choice Band definitely helps immensely, but with all the decks out there running limited EX / GX, it isn't always applicable.

Long story short, the deck was T2 for a reason. It is (and has been) a great deck that is extremely flexible and can be a nightmare to beat.

A few things. Vespiquen has been always playable and has been very good in standard. The loss of those cards didn't hurt the deck that much since it still kept its speed. I'm also not sure what Tapu Lele-GX contributes to the list? It can hit for a DCE but the point is to be hitting with bees. Also I think yo should know that Tapu Lele-GX doesn't hit for Weakness so it isn't that effective in dealing with those mons. I don't actually play the deck but the deck is officially dead when Shaymin rotates.

Umm vespiquen would be rotated as well

I went 5-5 with it the other night in testing. It's good I don't think it's good enough in the current meta to place in the top 8 like it did a couple months ago. But it's grass so there'll be plenty of water box decks out there that are weak to it.
