I figured that I should probably post some things up in here since, hey, I've been drawing pretty heavily again and it's great. I hit a major art block around the end of 2006 and struggled through a tiny handful of drawings from then until about the middle of 2011 when my spark came back. Been drawing like crazy since, and Pokemon've been a recent re-focus (otherwise I've been drawing a lot of Marvel characters) of mine.

Have a plethora of art. I'll try to update as stuff comes along. Expect a fair few WIP shots! I get a couple requests from my fellow art friends for breakdowns on how I do colour work, which means lots of screenshots usually.

At present I don't outright take requests -- I prefer suggestions on Pokemon to potentially do a focal piece on and if they catch my eye I might go for it.

I really like the style and techniques that you used to create your masterpieces. The way the lines of your outline tapers and appears smooth makes them all truly stand out and appear wonderful. The method you also used for creating values and colors are outstanding as well. c:

Thank you! It's good to be back, and it's also good to finally be able to post here on this board. Expanding the horizons, haha.

I've been drawing since I was 3 more or less, but I started to reach a level I would call competent around 2004-2006 before my big art block, and even then it wasn't anything, in my opinion (and we are our worst critics after all), too special. I mainly got my digital inking technique down which seems to woo a lot of people -- the finer style I use on the big pieces.

I couldn't even colour in 2011. I know colour theory well, and I know lighting, but I struggled to put those together until I began just at the end of last year putting them down as a monochrome painting then layer colouring over the top of them. So this has been a very recent big change in my style for me, and probably the first time I'd truly say I'm happy because I think after all these years I've found my niche.
 
Oh dang, nice to see you back after such a long while. And your art is still just as amazing as I remember it, I love the splash of color and patterns you put into your character pieces. Keep it up.

I always love seeing fans of Pidgeot. But just as much, I love seeing people who can drew fantastically. I knew you were a collector, but I didn't know you drew as well!
I'm not exactly sure what to say here, other than: from the drawings you've presented, I can get a decent feel from your drawing style. You have created a fan in me! I don't really have a favorite drawing yet; they're ALL so good...
 
Everything is so beautiful to look at. From the bubble textures to the flames. The lines are so defined and sharp and the shading blends almost perfectly. It's all gorgeous!
 
I love your coloring technique! I really like your drawing style, too (though the top Pidgeot and Blissey pic freaks me out a bit). My favorite so far is "Experiment," but these are all fantastic. I'm looking forward to the completion of that Eelektross drawing. Keep up the outstanding work!

Aha this is the weirdest comment I've gotten in a while. What about them freaks you out, out of curiosity?

And thank you, everyone! Hopefully I'll be sitting down to work on the Eelektross piece soon because I really am itching to paint it up.

On Pidgeot, it's definitely the face. The wideness of the head and mouth, shape of the eyes... I guess it just looks a bit more realistic than most Pidgeot art I've seen, so it comes off as kind'a creepy. As for Blissey, I think it's the eyelashes. It gives it a bit more of a humanoid look, but that plus no neck and huge face scares me. The other Pidgeot and Blissey pic doesn't bother me at all, though (probably due to the direction of Pidgeot's head and lack of eyebrows on Blissey).
 
Aha yeah, I owned birds and I'm an avid bird lover in general, and it tends to show whenever I draw raptors like pidgeot with certain head angles and the likes. Birds are just freaky cool.

Birds are pretty awesome. My favorite mythological creatures (phoenix, the kind that isn't constantly on fire, and griffon) are birds (well, the griffon is part bird) and my previous favorite Pokémon (Ho-Oh) was a bird. However, I can't draw birds worth diddly. Of course, I've never owned birds and realism isn't something I really go for. I have lots of cats and had done realistic line art of one of them, but I tried to paint it and failed terribly. I really wish I had scanned it before I tried painting it.

Got some progress on shibirudon happening. Just clean inks. I haven't gotten in and done nitty gritty details just yet but I will before I tackle the BG inks.

Hahah this is the first time since Flareon I've ever warmed up to an Eeveelution, and my friend's excitement was contagious.
