Virbank Gym combos

There's the obvious combo with the poison hypnotic beam coming out. But for a full blown poison deck, there are a few cards that go from medicre to playable.

-Gliscor (BC): Attack does 20 damage, auto poison, and retreat locks. I actually attempted a deck with it using Toxicroak (the poor mans terrakion). It sucked, maybe the gym card could give it the edge it needs.

-Toxicroak (BC): It becomes more than just a revenge killer. Still a poor mans terrakion, but it's at least searchable by level ball and won't get stuck active.

-The scolipede line (BC): Auto poisons when hit. This can allow scolipede to revenge kill EXs. (emerging powers whiripede is also good since you can do 70 for one if they're poisoned).

-Amoonguss (ND): Not really necessary with poison hypnotic beam doing the same thing in trainer form, but it's nice to have the option available.

-Carnivine (DE): Lure poison effectively becomes a snipe for 30, and that's not counting the additional damage they take if they don't retreat.

--Accelgor (DE): Not even Keldeo can save Terrakion from an OHKO with this.

I'm sure there's more, but those are the ones that come to mind.

Only Accelgor, Amoongus and Scolipede are playable from the above. Toxicroak is "meh" with its first attack. Crobat seems to me the best of all. 60 between turns is just too good.

Forget about the upcoming Beedrill.

Beedrill – Grass – HP120
Stage 2 – Evolves from Kakuna

[G] Hustle Spear: 20+ damage. If this Pokemon has no damage counters on it, this attack does 40 more damage, and the Defending Pokemon is now Confused and Poisoned.
[C][C][C] Pierce: 60 damage.

Weakness: Fire (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 0

90 for one with stasis effects to add to the annoyance. Not bad.

IF it doesn't have any damage counters on it. That's a big if for a Stage 2, especially when you have Darkrai sniping 30 to benched Weedles.

I only uses 1 Energy to attack, so Max Potion helps it out. You also get confusion on top of that, so it could become a very annoying deck to face. Unfortunatley, it probably won't be any good in an actual tournament, simply becuase it is a Stage 2. It is very Darkrai weak and is slow. It would have a good Keldeo matchup and that's about it.

Beedrill one shots Blastoise with HTL virbank and can almost one shot Keldeo ex.

Well not HTL but whatever.
Lolololololol yanmega can one shot Keldeo with HTL virbank.

hmm...
I can't come up with any more than listed. I suppose if you're playing the Gliscor thing, you will want plenty of Escape Rope.
I do really like the Crobat idea though, given the draw it provides. The issue will always be energy.

Ummm... Crobat? Poison for 6 in between turns? The highest count you can get for poison counters, I think?

You my friend deserve some stars... Anyways Crobat/Sigilyph would be intersting to run.

I don't like Crobat because of the sub-par HP. Darkrai can easily OHKO it with Claw + HTL, Keldeo EX just laughs at it, and Landorus/Mewtwo can OHKO it with Mewtwo + HTL. I just don't think Stage 2 attackers really work nowadays.

Blah... Crobat can work with Garbodor according to DNA and TPO3, and even then Infernape is gonna be a boss. only issue is if someone can OHKO darkrai/Mewtwo/Lando/Keldeo...

Let's not take what I said out of proportion now. I was purely theorymoning ideas around. I never said Crobat and Garbodor would definitely work well together. People theorymoned Gardevoir/Mewtwo for the longest time, and where did that get them?

As it stands, I like Accelgor, but it's really questionable. Normally you want to Deck and Cover at appropriate times where your opponent doesn't get to hit back after poison damage adds up, and Virbank City Gym changes the outlook and damage counting of the deck completely.

Crobat + Garbodor would be a Stage 2 and a Stage 1, not to mention all the tools you have to pack for Garbodor. It would be way too inconsistent.

Keep in mind this is coming from someone who hates the post Plasma format and would love to see some of these creative ideas succeed. I just don't think it's possible in the insanely fast format we're going into.

How did we miss that!? :O

And I have another one that hasn't been mentioned yet. The Giratina from the new set does 50 more if the Defending Pokemon is effected by a special condition, a total 130 for three. It's Psychic so you can OHKO Mewtwo and Cresselia, and it's Plasma so you can Colress Machine to it.

Also Hydreigon OHKO's 170 HP EX's, but this really isn't worth mentioning since it already did that with a Darkrai snipe.

This card gives Landorus a chance to fight against Keldeo. Being able to OHKO Squirtle with Hammerhead before it evolves is just great.

There's also the team plasma jellicent. The attack is horrendous, but it's not any worse than the scolipede line in BC and also confuses along with the poison.

What's the point of Garbo with Crobat? Removing the only thing that could possibly make the deck consistent enough to work (not that I think Crobat's ability is very much, but its better than nothing and not something to waste, especially with how much stage 2 decks need consistency....).

Amoonguss, ninetails, HTL, 150 base plus virbanks +20 for poison is 180, plus plus power is 190, tool scrapper and for one less prize you just put buffolant to shame and made ninetails viable again.

Edit: unless confusion cancels sleep.
