Virizion EX as a tech

I've thought about Virizion EX. Most people would think to pair it with Genesect. That is a good combination, but with Verdant Wind, it can serve as a nice defensive tech. You don't even need to use basic grass energies to activate it, so it could serve as a nice tech in Plasma since blend and prism energies would activate it.

It could also be used to power up anything that can use colorless energy to attack, such as Tornadus EX, DEX and PF, Mewtwo EX, Lugia EX, Bouffalant, Registeel EX, and Regigigas EX. I'm sure there are others, but those are the ones that come to mind.

I can't see Virizion EX working as a tech in Plasma(or any other meta decks). It takes up a bench space you could have a Keldeo or another Deoxys on, and isn't activated by Blends, so you half the time it's a dead card. I find Keldeo a better option because it can heal off special conditions as well as reset Blizzard Burn. I can see teching potential in decks that play lots of colourless Pokemon, and it pairs nicely with Bouffalant, but probably not in Plasma or other metagame decks(besides VirGen, but that's not a tech.).

It does work in Darkrai, because now that Energy Switch is gone people have more reason to play Blends and Virizion works perfectly.

That's true, forgot about that I can see it more in a list that is dedicated to getting out Virizion as appose to straight Darkrai, since relying on a 1 card tech to save you from status is kinda unreliable. If teching more than one though, I can see it working quite well since the threat of it being prized is minimized.
