Looking for any advice on this deck. The main strategy I was going with was using Volcanion to power up Volcanion EX and then using float stones or pokemon ranger or other switches hitting 130+steam ups every turn using things like Energy Retrieval and reset being able to usually get 3 steam ups per turn so hitting around 220 . Thank you for your time and any advice!

Dive ball would be great here, 8 of your Pokemon are Water.

Of course there are more streamlined versions of this deck that run Hoopa, Shaymins etc. But if you're set on the Octillarys throw some Dballz in there.

I also play 2 different versions of Volcanion decks. Following are a few thoughts for your consideration:
  • @Outsidevil comment regarding the inclusion of Dive Ball is a very good one. I would also encourage you to replace 1 of your Ultra Balls with Dive Ball, but also add 2 more Dive Ball (minimum of 3, maybe add another for a total of 4 - play-testing will help you decide which count works best). The Dive Balls should definitely help you setup faster.
  • Given the medium-heavy retreat cost of your primary Pokémon, consider replacing 1 of your Float Stone with a reusable Olympia.
  • 1 Escape Rope (other to be replaced by Ninja Boy), 2 Float Sone, 1 proposed Olympia, and 1 Switch is a good mix of Trainers to get an unwanted Active Pokémon out of that position. The 1 Skyla also helps. On the other hand, the count (i.e., 5 total) seems a bit high; so, consider just running only 1 Float Stone.
  • 1 Energy Reset and 3 Energy Retrieval also seem quite excessive. I'd suggest a mix of 1 Energy Retrieval, 1 Fisherman and 1 Professor's Letter.
  • The VS Seeker count should be maximized, IMO, in order to provide maximum versatility in recovering discarded Supporters (despite the Octillery whose Ability can be nullified).
  • With Octillery, consider running more opponent's hand disruption cards like Delinquent, Judge, Red Card, etc. knowing you can still replenish your hand.
  • Only 1 Stadium???? I'd suggest replacing Sky Field with Rough Seas which provides healing to our Octillery and Volcanion EX. Consider having a minimum of of 3 Stadiums 9 (maybe checkout other decks in the Deck Garage for comparison in regards to the number of Stadiums used).
I hope you find these comments helpful.
