warning: pokemon cards on ebay

This has recently come to my attention. I know some might know this already but try and make sure that others see it as well.

As you know the world champion 2006 decks have recently come out. In some of these packs there are EX cards. However, they are not playable and they are printed on flimsy card and are not shiny. These packs do not cost much.
However, on ebay some sellers have been listing these cards and have been saying they are the cards from the original sets, such as unseen forces etc. They are pricing these cards very highly and they are worth no where near as much as some starting bids.
Most ebay sellers are genuine but be careful about buying. The cheap cards have a purple back and the world championship logo. One seller from where I am from (england) had these cards at 50 pounds (approx $100) and can be bought for a lot less in shops.
 
What a coincidence! I was looking at eBay just now too! I also saw it. Yeah, just be careful.
 
This is always gonna happen. Happened last year, and the year before. Just make sure you READ everything and try to be aware of what's going on and you should be fine. Sadly some people do fall for it, and the conmen (or conwomen) win. Sad.

Yeay, my friend once spent £80 on a Lugia ex, and when he got it, he recognised that it's just a world championship card...ALWAYS LOOK CAREFULLY AT THE PICTURE! of course, some sellers don't put pictures. better not buy anything from them.
 
Reminds me of the story about the guy who sold a photograph of an Xbox 360 for 400+ bucks. Read everything closely, if you don't, you'll have a major problem if you wish to file a complaint. If, however, the seller did NOWHERE state that it is in fact the Championship deck version, you can still report him for scamming. If ANYWHERE is noted it IS the Champ deck version, you're out of luck.
 
I noticed that it was from championship decks before buying so I did not buy anything. Are you allowed to report people anonymously? I would have to check their item description. Just in case anybody was wondering it affects these cards-
umbreon ex, steelix ex, lugia and espeon ex (unseen forces), Jolteon ex, flareon ex and vaporeon ex (delta species), a shining latias card (from deoxys), blastoise ex (fr/lg)
I only bought 2 of the decks but there is also a mew ex and a manectric ex card affected too.
