Weavile / Exeggcute

Hi guys, first of all I'm writing from Italy so forgive me for the bad English!! Anyway, I've been following the forum for months but I've finally decided to write a thread and ask for help in improving my list, since I'm going to bring it to some local leagues the next week.
This is my current list:

Pokemon: 19

  • 4 Weavile
    4 Sneasel
    4 Exeggcute
    2 Electrode
    2 Voltorb
    1 Darkrai EX
    1 Mr Mime
    1 Archen
    1 Absol
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums: 32

  • 4 Professor Juniper
    4 N
    2 Skyla
    2 Colress
    4 Dark Patch
    3 Ultra Ball
    3 Level Ball
    2 Silver Bangle
    2 Super Rod
    1 Dowsing Machine
    1 Professor's Letter
    2 Startling Megaphone
    1 Escape Rope
Energy: 9

  • 9 Darkness

Strategy:

These are my main doubts...
1) I'm looking for a solid backup attacker in case I won't find a way to set a Weavile up. I was thinking about Absol but then I thought that Leafeon or Druddigon would be helpful in the Blastoise matchup (and I expect to encounter many), or even Raichu (for Yveltal). And then I'm still not sure about the choice to remove Sableye from the list... What do you suggest??
2) What do you think about the Supporter and Items choice?? Besides Blastoise, I'm going to fight against lots of Garbodor and Yveltal variants, so I thought about adding one more Megaphone and one copy of Lysandre to get that one last kill that sometimes may be crucial... Would these be good additions and what would you swap for them?
3) Last but not less important, I sometimes have issues in streaming big damages for consecutive turns because I run out of resources... How would you find a way out of this problem??

I know this may not be the best deck out there but I'm getting back into the competitive play after many years so I'm just trying to have fun with what is my favourite deck at the moment and trying to improve my tactics!! I hope you'll help me!!

Updated your list with your changes! :D ~Kecleon

RE: Help with Weavile/exeggcute

You will want to add in one sableye, and one startaling megaphone. As far as secondary attacker you could add in yveltal ex, absol, or dr is a good choice. Other than that the deck should be pretty good. But like you said it is not the best deck. It as potential to do alot of damage when set up properly.

RE: Help With Weavile/Exeggcute

4/4 Level/Ultra is a bit much. I use to play this deck and i felt like 3/3 is enough. 1 Super Rod is probably enough too. Especially with the Dowsing Machine.

You could try adding frozen city. As it can soften up your targets and completely ruin Blastoise/Emboar decks.

Another fun card you could try is Scoop Up Cyclone. While yes its not as useful as dowsing machine. It does provide interesting opportunities. Late game you can use it on Electrode and have 2 more pokemon to discard that turn, or pick up that exeggcute that you started with.

Town Map could help you grab those Exeggcute that are in your prizes, since those are so important to this deck.

Deoxys Ex is another option to increase your damage. 2 Deoxys and a Silver Bangle add 50 damage to 4 Exeggcute discarded for 170 damage without any extra discards.

I've done a bunch of testing with this deck early on before X/Y so idk how well it could do, but these were the things I tried out.

RE: Help With Weavile/Exeggcute

I like the addidtion of the deoyxs ex and town map. Im not sure on the scoop up cyclone because it is very situational, but i am interested in how well i works.

Thans to everyone for the suggestions... At the moment I have Frozen City in 2 copies and I'd really love to find the space for them. For the Deoxys, I still think it's a little risky since it' gonna be an easy target for Catcher and Lysandre. What I was thinking is something like this:

Pokemon: 19
4 Weavile
4 Sneasel
4 Exeggcute
2 Electrode
2 Voltorb
1 Darkrai EX
1 Mr Mime
1 Archen
1 Absol

Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums: 32
4 Professor Juniper
4 N
2 Skyla
2 Colress
4 Dark Patch
3 Ultra Ball
3 Level Ball
2 Silver Bangle
2 Super Rod
1 Dowsing Machine
1 Professor's Letter
2 Startling Megaphone
1 Escape Rope

Energy: 9
9 Darkness

Now what would you remove for Deoxys, Sableye or Frozen City??

I have been testing this deck and have some suggestions, first of all, don't try to worry too much about decks that are bad matchups, there aren't very many and there's no sense ruining your consistency trying to tech in cards. Top priority should be getting all 4 eggs in discard first turn as well as starting to get a weavile set up. So I highly suggest 4 level ball and 4 ultra ball. Try to focus on just attacking with weavile. I would also highly reccomend the frozen city. Even if it does hurt you occasionally, it's worth it to reak havoc for blastoise/emboar decks.

So what would you change to put 4 Ultra and 4 Level Ball and 2 Frozen City?? The list is pretty tight

I am working on building two decks at the moment. Weavile/exeggcute and Miltank/Greninja. For the first one I was thinking about Lopunny as good addition and the video on that channel was pure inspiration to me!!
What do you guys think would be stronger between the 2 decks? I ask because I'd like to take one of them to the local leagues...

I actually made a miltank/greninja deck the other day as well. It's pretty solid but depends on the matchup. It usually gets set up very quickly and can donk a lot of decks and win right away. However, anything that can hit the bench or shut off abilities can really hurt it. Personally I think they are both solid decks, whichever one you feel better about you should take. As weavile, I would just stick to the basic weavile/eggs/electrode idea. It isn't too hard to set up weavile since it's just a stage 1. Run lots of drawing and discarding cards to get eggs in discard asap and you should be fine. Also, I run 2 or 3 jirachi ex in my deck for consistency incase I get a bad first hand. If you don't need them you can always discard with weaviles attack anyways. hope that helps
