Collecting Were Shadowless Base Set Packs Sold in the UK?

Hello.

I'm sorry if this is a noob question, but I haven't been able to find any information on this.

Can anyone verify whether 1st edition or "shadowless" booster packs were ever sold in the UK. I don't remember seeing anything like that back when I was collecting them in the 90's, and I've noticed that there aren't that many being sold on eBay within the UK. So it got me thinking.. were those booster packs even sold in the UK or did we only get Pokemon cards once "shadowed" cards were printed.

Any info would be appreciated

There are 4 main base set prints in English.

1st edition base set - Only released in the US
Shadowless - Only released in the US
Unlimited - Released in the US and rest of the world - Copyright reads "1995, 96, 98 Nintendo, Creatures, GAMEFREAK C 1999 Wizards"
UK Unlimited - Only released in UK copyright reads "1995, 96, 98 Nintendo, Creatures, GAMEFREAK C 1999-2000 Wizards"

So the only official UK base set release was the UK Unlimited Print and not many of those were printed so they are pretty hard to find too.
