What are grinders?

They're the last chance qualifier. If you didn't get an invite to participate in worlds, you can still participate in a tournament the day before worlds to compete for a chance to play in the actual tournament. For Masters, it's usually hard to get in this way, but for juniors and seniors, it's quite handy.
So basically, the very last chance of getting an invite, and one of the biggest tournaments.

Grinders is the Last Chance Qualifier, which, as the name implies, is the last chance to get into Worlds. It is held on the site of Worlds, and it is held the day before the actual Worlds competition. If you do really well, you earn an invite to Worlds. When people get in this way, it is said they grinded into Worlds.

EDIT: Ninja'd. =[

Grinders are sandwiches on long rolls usually with lettuce and meat, sometimes cheese. Most that call a sub this live in the Northeast.

PWNED. (jk)

People call it the grinder beacuse mostly when the LCQ started, it was at like, 4 PM that Friday. It went on for usually 10-12 hours, so you "grinded" in. Nowadays it starts early, but it still goes on pretty long.
