please describe what it's like at a prerelease event(what you do, atmosphere, etc).
I want to go to the Plasma one coming up soon and I want to know what to expect :)
Isn't this how you get promo prerelease cards?

Well, at my pre-release( only one, going to PS one soon).

So, I went with my friend, and assuming you got a player id already, While you wait for the packs and such to come, you can play a game on DS, battle other people, look at their binders (Someone there had, 2 mewtwo FA, 1 mewtwo EX (non-promo), and 2 shiny rayquazzas!). When the time comes, they give you a specific table to sit at and they give everyone 6 box directly out of box.Speaking of boxes, people there buy lots of sealed boxes!

You open the packs, and tell you 10000000 times, to only use 40 cards. You get a person to battle, and you fight. Afterwards, you wait 5 minutes and get another one. After all that, you can trade and do whatever. Also, during the battles, they give you a unfolded deckbox and the promo card.

Hope that helped! Also, going alone this year,

event: basically what you do is you register they give you a holo prerelease card and a deckbox based off the artwork of the booster packs for that set. You then sit down at a table and then organizers of the event give you 6 packs of that set. After that you make a 40 card deck out of the cards you pulled. There is energy cards provided. After this you play a couple of rounds with your 40 card deck. After the tourney you turn your energy back in and they will give you 2 packs at the end for participating. There are usually around 40 people at a prerelease. They are lots of fun to you get to make lots of friends. Hope I helped you out.

Thanks for the insight! It sounds like it's pretty fun, did you enjoy yourself?

Oh yeah. And seeing as how it's so luck-based with the packs and all, I personally wouldn't take it too seriously.
