What are the chances of an ex

Im get packs quite alot and it seems every 5th pack i get i get an ex so it may be 1 in 5 but other then that im lost can someone help me out here?

I think the chance are 1 ex/12 packs, but that doesn't mean you'll get an ex in a group of 12. It means out of, let's say, 24 packs you might not get 2 ex's or even 1, but if you buy another 12 packs you might get them or not. And so on so forth. It's very confusing and it's better to get a box if you want to get ex's because it's about 3 ex's per box.

this is how it is
RS first shipment 1 in 3 gets an ex (there was some sort of error)
RS-Dr 1 in 6 gets an ex
TATM on 1 in 12 gets an ex
but some cases its different...
FRLG 1 in 9 gets an ex
DS & HP 1 in 36 gets an ex
LM 1 in 18 gets an ex

About 1 in 16 boosters I found that out when I got 16 packs of the deoxys set last year.

Indeed... 1 out of 3 makes sense.... A freind bought 2 RS boosters... Sneasel ex and Hitmonchan ex.
