What are the current legal sets and meta decks?

Hey guys!

Its been over a year since my last post because took a break from the PTCG and running my league.

So obviusly i dont know whats currently going on in the game.

If you all could take some time out and fill me in on what i have missed.

Question 1: What sets are currently legal?

Question 2: What are the current meta decks?

I appolagise if i have posted on the wrong part of the forum, its changed since i have last been on..

As of July 1st, the only sets that are legal are Heartgold & Soulsilver, Unleashed, Undaunted, Triumphant, Call of Legends, and Black and White. The current metagame decks for this format are Emboar variants, Zekrom, Donphan variants, and Stage 1 decks (Cinccino, Yanmega, etc.)

Well right now it is MD-BW but on July 1st (next friday) there rotation will be in place which makes it HGSS on. This means that US and Canada nationals as well as worlds will be HGSS on. Next season will be the first full season of HGSS on .

The main decks for HGSS on will be:
DonChamp (Donphan and Machamp prime)
ReshiBoar (Reshiram and Emboar ability)
MagneBoar (Magnezone prime and Emboar ability)

But as you haven't played in a while I recommend you try this deck it is pretty cheap to build but could be tier 2 next season. It is based around Cinccino (black and white), Zoroark (black and white can be obtained from victini box) and Yanmega prime (quite expensive now around $15). Here is a rough skeleton list for you:
21 Pokemon
4-4 Cinccino (swarm this guy and hit for a 100)
2-2 Zoroark
2-2 Yanmega prime
1 Boufflant (black and white)
4 Stantler (Unleashed)

23 T/S/S
4 Pokemon communication
4 Copycat
2 Judge
2 Proffesor Oaks new theory
4 Pokemon collector
2 Dual ball
3 Pluspower
2 Proffesor Elms training method

8 Energy
4 DCE
2 Rescue energy
2 Dark energy

This leaves 4 spaces for you to choose yourself and see what works best in the space. Hope I helped!
