^^It's not the same!! =O lol The new one has a x2 Fighting weakness and only a -20 psychic resistance. So if you own the original card you won't be able to use it in the modified format. =[ But if I do get the "reprint" Sneasel I'll most likely be playing with it.
Still this bad boy can hit for heavy damage early game for 2 energy exploiting slow speed of prerelease decks and the fact it is only a common makes it even better >=)

Vileplume won't be as good due to the lack of T/S/S in many prerelease decks. Sneasel will be ok. If you pull a Prime/Stage 2 and get it out, chances are you'll win the battle.

It'd be extremely fun because you aren't limited to four of a card in PRs. 1 Fortress and 5 Pineco. lol

No, the charizard reprints and such have the same exact stats as the old ones. They even resist 30 instead of 20.
