Help What Hot, Fresh Deck Should I Play when SM is Out?

i've been a bit out of the game for a few months & last rotation i was playing vespiquen. i caught up a bit on current meta before san jose regionals and ultimately decided to give vespiquen a try (i did not do too well but not the worst; went 3-5-1) because i didn't want to spend (hella poor, really have to scrape to build decks at all) on building a new deck until the new set comes out because i'm very excited about it. i want to build a standard deck now, and i already had started to put together giratina/darkrai, but i decided i definitely wanted to wait and make whatever is good after sun & moon release.

here's my issue: i play pokemon competitively but i like pokemon because cute monsters!! i am waaaayy into good character design, and cute things. i like giratina and darkrai; they're neat and everything and it's a good deck, but i don't know. i had a really good time with vespiquen/eeveelutions because not only was it a fun deck, it also included pokemon i really like and think are cute

oh & greninja is a pretty cute deck that i might build at some point, but i'm looking for a HOT FRESH one post-s&m

so right now i'm looking at lurantis-gx & thinking,, nice ??!
what does everyone think is going to be good to pair with them? it's some good energy acceleration, and since rainbow energy exists (or running more than one color of basic energy, idk which of those is less clunky) it could conceivably pair with any high-energy (since you can pull any basic energy with it) attacker. how ridiculous would it to be to run lurantis-gx with, like, flareon-ex? or is using anything but grass type overcomplicated; am i overlooking a previous grass type pokemon who would play well with lurantis?

lunula-gx is also appealing to me & sooo prettyyy~! lunala seems like they will definitely be good, but how good? and is max elixir going to be enough energy acceleration? how terrible an idea would it be to pair lurantis-gx with lunala-gx?

If you want offensive setup use Lurantis-GX/Mega Venusaur-EX. If you want stall use Decidueye-GX. You can use Laura's-GX/Wailord-EX with Pokémon Ranger, Taurus-GX and Giratina (looks good) or you can use (these are all my opinion) Espeon-GX/Alolan Muk. Hope I helped with ideas!

Anything with Tauros-GX, Shaymin-EX, and Tech Winona. There's just so much that can be done with it. Heck, Tauros-GX/Yveltal-EX/Garbodor also sounds like a nasty piece of work. Tank with Tauros-GX and set up Yveltal-EX, sweep with Evil Ball or do massive amounts of damage with a weakened Tauros-GX.

Not to mention, Fighting Fury Belt works way too well in a deck like that. Reminds me of when people would tech Reshiram LTR for Outrage, just we now have the perfect tool for it.

I think there is a whole lot of potential (and the required amount of cootness) in some sort of mixed Eeveelution deck.

I'm not buying anything before Sun and Moon comes out. But Sylveon GX has a lot of potential in my eyes, so I might build a deck around it with a Flareon tech for the Scizor matchup.

IDK, it seems like Tauros GX and Decidueye GX are seeing some hype. Tauros is definitely a good tech card, but I don't see it being a big thing. Decidueye however, piques my interest. Being able to T1 start doing 20 damage with each one on the field without attacking is pretty sweet. But, since the set hasn't dropped, no one knows what will be good.

I see Eeveelutions doing some scary things: 200 HP Stage 1's that can evolve turn one that take advantage of Bursting Balloon, Assault vest, multiple typings, and whatnot. So much of the Meta right now could be countered by them:

Yveltal: Jolteon's abilty lets them strike for weakness, and they can't be targeted on the bench via Pitch Black Spear (GX, not EX)
M Mewtwo: Espeon-GX 1 hits them if the Mega's have 2 or more energy - and abilities aren't needed either.
Garbodor: Espeon-GX's Z-Move pretty much cleans the trash off of the bench.
Volcanion: Vaporeon lets them strike for weakness.
M Scizor: Flareon lets them strike for weakness.

Xerneas and Greninja are the ones that could give them trouble, but overall, I sense the eeveelutions altering the Metagame quite a bit. I can't wait to try them out!
