What is a lost Zone?

i was reading some spoilers (gigranta) and it says if you kill it it does to the lost zone what is a lost zone?

It's like a second discard pile that you can't access at all during the game. Once you pokemon gets knocked out by giratina, it goes there until the game is finished.
