What is Plox?

Sorry for this n00bish question, but what did the deck Plox consist of? I'm sorry, I haven't been playing that long, and didn't play when these cards were out. Sorry if this is in the wrong thread mods, I just want to enhance my experience. :p
 
Plox is a different name for Gardevoir/Gallade a dominating deck from the past. using Gardevoir SW and Gallade SW.
 
The idea of Plox was to use Gardevoir SW's Psychic Lock attack (which is where Plox came from) to lock your opponent from playing Poke Powers while doing damage.

Back then, think of Plox as today's Luxchomp, but even more deadly.
 
...and back in the Holon Phantoms-on meta, it had a ton of different supporters to copy using Telepass - Roseanne's Research, Celio's Network, Steven's Advice...all of which are pretty gamebreaking. (I ran a slowed-down version of it right around when it first came out, and using Steven's Advice to draw 6 cards, plus play another Supporter, is pretty awesome.)

It also had the advantage of using Double Rainbow and Scramble Energies then, which accelerated its attack speed further.

What was in the deck "Hope"
and what does everyone mean by "Do the wave" in the thread about old decks
 
Hope: Honchkrow SV, Shuppet, Blaziken FB, and a bunch of random techs that was basically made to try and counter a bunch of different decks.
Do the Wave is an attack on Pokemon such as Wigglytuff from Jungle, or more recently, Lucario PL. Strong for its time, it gained power the fuller your bench was.
 
Haymaker = Hitmonchan (Base Set), Electabuzz (Base Set), and Scyther (Jungle) - in short, the three cards that got reprinted in the Platinum set as super rares.

Since they were pretty strong for their time (70 HP on a Basic) and could dish out a lot of damage for little energy (Scyther was also compatible with DCE), it was a deck that basically played an overwhelm strategy.
 
The point of the deck was to attack super fast with high HP basics. Hitmonchan attacked 20 for 1, 50 for 3. Electabuzz 1 for 10 w/ paralysis or 2 for 30. Scyther can hit for 60 for 3 after using swords dance.
