BW/BW2 What makes your signature pokemon unique?

Is it shiny? Special moves? Events?
I was thinking of making my signature a shiny when I hatch it.

My signature pokemon is ALWAYS a pokemon I really love. My White and Black (I use the same team for both) signature pokemon knows how to land powerful special attacks at great speed, and I love it

eh.. I don't really have a signature pokémon but I usually prefer faster pokémon with high atk/sp.atk and usually have lower defences. I also always use the regional bird and the cover legendary so I guess I can consider those as signature pokémon...
However I was planning on tryin' to breed a shiny charmander (since Charizard is (one of) my favorite pokémon) and use it on my in-game team for the 3rd gen V version... but it might be too much of a boring task for me to do...
