XY What music styles would you like to see?

With the jump to the 3DS, Pokemon is going to have to go through a ton of changes. The graphics have been improved, and the gameplay may have to be changed to suit the 3DS. With a new handheld that has infinitely better sound capabilities than the DS (As proven by Kid Icarus Uprising), the music in the Pokemon series is obviously going to have to be cranked up a notch. With the new CD quality sound, it can offer a lot of opportunities for instruments to be used, and even synths?

What style of music would you like to grace the Pokemon series? Synthetic Rock? Techno? A fully orchestrated OST?

Personally, I'd like to see a variety of different styles. The atmosphere could defiantly benefit from each town having a different style of music. Like one large city type place exclusively using American Originated Instruments, and with the region being based on france, maybe some French-style music? And maybe intense or synthetic rock for plot important battles? I dunno. So what styles would you like to hear?

RE: Music Styles?

This guy thinks the music is orchestrated. http://www.pokebeach.com/forums/thread-the-music-is-it-orchestrated

I personally also hope that the music is orchestrated, because if the 3ds is capable of it, it should be.

But one of my hopes is that they have 3 or 4 different standard trainer and wild battle themes respectively, so you don't have to hear the same one each time, and a different theme for each gym leader battle and each different legendary battle, but that is probably way to much to ask.

Yeah, that'd probably be the most interesting. I'd be happy to see the return of GB Sounds. Some of the most interesting stuff in HGSS were the 8-bit renditions of the new areas like The Global Terminal, Route 47, and the Safari Zone.

I'm fine with the current style, although I would like to see a bit more rock kind of like in HGSS.

HGSS were my favorite games, mostly because of the musical style, so anything like that style would be great.

I would like to see lyrics in some of the songs while you are battling like they did in black 2 and white 2. I thought that was really cool.

As much jazz (like Virbank) as possible and a great variety.

Like the ghetsis and colres themes?

French house maybe? :D

Oh yeah, and can we get some of this in the main games:

I want a mix of BW2 and HGSS. The bass (or snare drum) appealed to me, especially in the Colress and N themes. Also the HGSS Gym Theme was pretty neat too.

Hmm yes, maybe a whole house-themed gym. It would be Steel or Electric type and have a gym leader duo who dress like robots ;)

We need more water trumpets
You know how much everybody loved Hoenn's water trumpets

Dear Arceus, no. 3rd gen music was so bland because of those damn trumpets.

I know who your talking about...:). It also seems likely, as that genre is popular in France I think, as well as disco. I think it should be Electric. I really hope it happens! And that two French robots are doing something right now...I think it would be fitting and make these my favorite games.

Actually, any kind of music suits me! Though I do prefer classical music. Cool music like legendary
theme songs are awesome, so I'd like to see some of these more oftenly during the game play
of Pokemon X version, and Y Version.

I'm definitely a fan of the big, brassy, adventurous themes of northern Hoenn and the funky guitar and bass sounds of eastern Sinnoh, so more of those, please. I wasn't so much of a fan of the largely back-to-nature acoustic soundtrack of Unova, though - I'd love to hear more a more futuristic trend for X and Y, with more of the guitar stylings of Sinnoh combined with some electronica influences.

I'd like to see them take a few pages from Colosseum and XD's soaring-guitar-plus-massive-string-section book, too, because those games' soundtracks did big and epic in a way that the GB, GBA, and DS just didn't allow, but that the 3DS could finally accomplish. Just try to tell me that the Admin battle music from Colosseum doesn't give you at least a few goosebumps, especially at the start. Slow, deliberate, and wonderfully sinister. And this piece is maybe my favorite battle theme in the whole series.
