What was your first deck?

Yeah, the title explains a lot. So, what deck did you use when you first started playing Pokemon? Did you buy a structure deck, a tin, a box, etc? Did you get cards from your friends and build a deck? I personally started by getting lots of cards from my friend, and then I finally purchased an Empoleon tin. I eventually made a random legendary deck (like a lot of people I know), and brought it to league one day. It failed. Then I made a fossil deck with the electric type Kaputops from Holon Phantoms, which actually managed to win me a few games though the deck was fail.I never really played competitively until a year or so ago, but was never very good.... :p

So what did you start out with?

I started out with a deck featuring dragonite from an older set, dragonite LA and dragonite FB with a whole bunch of random crap in there. The next deck I remember playing was DuskGar, focusing on getting dusknoir X out as a stadium with gengar X compound paining for tons of spread. It wasn't actually too bad, though I lacked alot of staples.
 
My first Good deck was Base Set Rain Dance at the age of 9. Then Damage Swap/Stall.

First deck ever was the 2 player base starter deck
 
Well, when you hear this just remember I didn't know what a tournament was and I was 5, It was some sorta thing with vileplume ex and some other pokemon I thought were cute, like ponyta.
 
I started getting cards back in 1999 when they came out, but never really understood how to play until I got the TCG for gameboy.

I don't remember what my first deck was, but after the Rocket set I stopped getting cards for a long time up until HeartGold SoulSilver cards came out in Feb this year, but my deck that I had constructed of the cards I had was Water/Fighting with no theme at all, just Pokemon I liked and had decent lines of really.

My first deck I've made since coming back into the game revolves around healing using grass pokemon like Shaymin PL38 and Leafeon RR, while using Metapod as a tech to have no weakness. Its nowhere near competitive, but its fun to play.
 
I first bought an empoleon tin. Which led me to buy a Darkrai GE deck, I tinkered with it and then got new ones. Actually a lot of the decks I have now are based around Theme decks
 
I started back when EX - Team Rocket Returns had hit the market. But my first "real" deck that I built was around when EX - Dragon Frontiers came out. I bought the Feraligatr deck and a bunch of friends helped me make it decent (I bought two of them so I had a few more cards to customize with).
 
My first deck that I built that was tournament legal was a Flygon lv.X Gallade 4 X, Mismagius X Skymin Lv.X deck, its funny me and my friends were the biggest n00bs you'd ever seen, as for my first tournament I ran a decently built BlazRay with an Infernape tech.
 
My first deck ever was a leafeon lv x deck. It was randomly built with espeon md and umbreon md as techs with my 3 leafeon rr and 1 leafeon lv x. I had like a heavy line of beedrills too lol, a funny thing I remember is having alot of bad cards like moms kindness and potions in my deck with like 16 grass energies
 
My first true deck was Infernape/Houndoom/Magmortar x with Sableye and Moltres MD. It was a lot of fun, and it actually did decent at my first tourney (considering how much of a noob I was). Went 3-3 :D
 
Since I joined in Rising Rivals and bought 5 packs of it, my brother said i got the cards for an eveelutions deck. The deck was a total fail, but i ended up winning a game once!!
 
Delta Toolbox deck. I built it with the help of some friend's borrowed cards.

I played Infernape 4 X+ Heatron X deck with Gardevior SW (without gardivior X) at my first tournament. It was awful. Later I did a Flygon X deck.
 
When I first started playing it was during the ex series.

My first deck was Salamene ex. (the ex deoxys set) I ran him with that old delcatty for draw, and Ninetales for ex protection. I did well with her.
 
My first deck: Random eeveelutions with like 9 eevees. My brother and I didn`t know the rules then :p
 
At my first tournament I played Mightyena (and did really well at that) but my league deck was a Dusknoir deck with other random Psychics.
 
My first tournament deck was the Flamemaster theme deck from Arceus modified. But, the first deck I made was the Rebellion deck from Platinum modified.
 
Mine was the two-player starter deck when it first came out. =)

Then I made my grandpa buy me each Theme Deck that came out. Back then I just threw every card I had together and called those stacks of cards decks. It was good times.
