XY What would you like to hear regarding XY's soundtrack?

I haven't seen a thread regarding this topic yet but I'm actually really interested in the music that XY will have. In my own personal opinion, there wasn't too much memorable tracks from Gen V (though I really liked the credits theme for Black & White) and I'm really hoping the soundtrack for these upcoming games will have some music that I'll remember for years to come.

Since the region is obviously based upon Europe, I'm assuming Lumiose City will have sort of a France vibe? Accordions and such?

I want to hear a different wild Pokémon battle theme. I'm so sick of the one used in 5th gen and at least in RSE and DPPt there were the RB and GS re-makes.

I'm hoping most of the battle themes will be along the lines of the music that's been in the trailers. It has an awesome huge Colosseum-esque quality to it. Aside from that, I kind of hope thye shift back toward the kind of music Hoenn and Sinnoh had. Unova's was for the most part just...off, to me, whether it was too laid back in themes that could've used more power, or overly energetic and beat-heavy where a little subtlety would've been better.

Accordion in some city themes would be nice, but Unova already used it quite a bit, so it risks sounding too similar there. And please, Game Freak, fix your synth horn sounds. They were fine until BW, at which point they suddenly turned godawful.

No separate theme for the final Pokemon during gym battles. Also please lose the theme when a Pokemon is at low health.

Oh, I forgot all about the accordion usage in Unova. I'm sure if they did use accordion it would exclusive to Lumiose City. Since we haven't had a real in depth look at the other routes and towns yet I can't real say other tracks wouldn't have it but from the look of the region map none of the other town really seems like they would.

I loved Gen V music for what it was, but it was a bit too midi. It'd be great for a more full orchestral soundtrack. There can be lots of great European sounds in the game like accordions and flutes. A classical/peaceful vibe would add to the experience of the region.

Heck no, that was one of the best things gen. V ever did, in my book.

This, though, this needs to happen. I freaking hated missing out on hearing the epic battle theme going on during a tough fight just because I happened to be low on HP. I'd actually love if there was an option to not have a sound alert for low HP at all. I've never really seen the point of it.

i'd like to see variations of the same battle music for the 3 different areas. coastal could get more tropical instruments, rock and orchestral instruments for mountain, and more france-ish instruments for central.

I really didn't like the music in 5th gen, as it sounded much more like KRPG music than Pokémon music (especially in Castelia).
I also don't like Orchestral music for video games, as I find the composer adds too much into the song, making it last WAY longer than it should, which takes all the enjoyability I get from it.

Also, from one of my other posts:
I think that music should change with the time of day, at least in the bigger main cities, like in real life. For example, the day music should be a lot more adventurous, and "pop-y," similar to the current style and the night should be a lot more house-like or club-like, such as this /watch?v=QF39Xu5akFc or this /watch?v=TYaLOurqIv0.

i should've said the orchestral drums. it'd be the same length as the others, just different instruments.

No. Just no. This is an awful idea, especially for someone like me who hate ALL popular/chart music. I listen to VG music to get away from that awful noise.

I find that when Nintendo re-releases their songs in an Orchestral CD, they just take FOREVER to finish the song.

By "pop-y" I meant how the Pokemon music style sounds now, I couldn't think of a proper genre for it, so I defaulted it to that. I also hate pop music as well, it all sounds the same. But in Lumiose city at least, I do want a nighttime music style similar to the links I posted, the're french house, it's fitting in this new region.

I don't know that house-inspired music would fit for the main portion of Lumiose, but for the Gym or some other featured area, it would be a great addition.

I like that idea of having multiple battle themes depending on region, too. There's never been a battle theme I've actively disliked, but they do get a little stale after a while.

I would like to hear it in general. :p
So far the 3DS has gotten some great soundtracks, so I'm optimistic considering this is Pokemon.

I've played each game since Sapphire, and the soundtrack for that is the only one I remember. I absolutely love the music when you are just running around, and the Rayquaza theme (Isn't it also the E4 theme?)

I want some funky tunes.

the rayquaza theme is the same as Kyogre's and groudon's i thought, since it's always been part of the weather trio, even before Emerald

There is always a song at the end of the storyline and after beating the champion (when the credits are going & your character is going home) that is just perfect. It's always on point, and this is something that GF gets perfect in every game. It's always sentimental and it just fits the mood you have when the game is wrapping up.

As long as they continue to have those kinds of songs at the end, and they don't have annoying and repetitive battle themes, I will be happy with X/Y music-wise. Seriously, just listen to the ones I linked below, you will agree!

Examples of what I'm referring to:
N's farewell-- Absolutely beautiful- GG Gf <3
D/P Pokémon League --- This is one of my all time favs
B/W2 End Game

I think this could fit for Lumiose City.

It's very French and I think the city should have a beautiful French underscore. Maybe not exactly that, but that was one that I found that sounded like it could belong in a game.

I do agree though that if something like the song above was in the city, then it wouldn't fit night time as much. Maybe something a little more somber or just toned down.
