What if Pokemon were to make a 4th stage evolution? Would you like it?

I think it would be actually pretty cool. What are your thoughts?

The idea seems nice, but there isn't much practicality. A stage 4 evolution would probably be very high leveled, almost to the point of being too tedious (see the Hydreigon/Volcarona family).

Still, if they feel like shaking things up a bit, this would be pretty cool to see.

I suppose I would be fine with it, though its completely unnecessary. They would have to make sure the whole family looked different enough to be separate Pokémon. If they did it, I doubt they would make many.

It would not be practical gamewise. It would ruin the balance they are trying to restore. It also seems unneeded. If you think people complain about Pokemon being too much like Digimon NOW just imagine what a 4th evolution stage would do.

I don't think it would be that good design wise-most 3 stage mons are fully matured by the third stage.
Secondly, a 4th stage would be very overpowered on some Pokes. Imagine if, say Dragonite ended up getting an evolution with boosted stats and keeping Multiscale. Yeah, a lot of them would be devastating on competitive play.
Thirdly, imagine the levels you'd need to get the 3rd stage to to evolve. If you're getting a third stage to Dragonite, then it would probably come around level 70ish. So, if you trade to get a Dragonite evolution around 4-5th Gym time, then most likely it will never take any damage and will one-shot everything, making the fun go out from the game (unless you get horrible obedience hax, in which case it will only take like 10 damage anyway)

I agree with the rest of your post, but this part is kind of silly. Using Action Replay will destroy the game's balance whether you put a Level 100 Dragonite, or this supposed Level 100 Dragonite evolution into it. Saying not to change something in-game because of an external hacking device makes zero sense.

And in case I didn't make my stance clear, I don't agree with this idea. It sounds cool in theory, but it would utterly wreck the game.

Now with the creation of eviolite, it's very dangerous to make 4th stages. Multiscale + eviolite Dragonite with recover is just too damn strong.

I like the idea, would have some awesome art for some Pokes, but just unpractical

Its a cool idea to give some weak 3rd stage evolutions a stat boost with an evolution and new cool look like beedrill, butterfree, dustox, and the like. It would be competitively rediculous very early in the game though to have Pokemon hit there 4th stage of evolution and have killer stats.

Technically 3rd Stage evos don't exist, so going from 2nd stage to 4th is a long shot.

I've gotta agree with the majority here -- I think giving another level of evolution would be a bad idea. Doing so would be too similar to the power creep that's occurred in the TCG (which I already disapprove of). Even if they only do it for a few select Pokémon at first, it would likely continue in subsequent generations for more and more monsters.

Just pointing out that the earlygame bugs are meant to be weak, they all evolve early and have no exceptional stats. There's a theory that they evolve so early because it means kids can get a chance to use an evolved Poke in a Gym Battle (even tho each game there's been a bug that evolves at lv.10 is also a game where the first gym has an advantage over the bug) and theres no real reason for them to change.
Imagine a Beautifly evolution.. I really don't know what they'd do with it in terms of design except change its color palette and make it larger. There's nothing they could really add in terms of behaviour/lifestyle that Beautifly doesn't already exhibit. Its a butterfly that flies around collecting pollen, which has an aggresive nature. There's nothing more to that that would actually have any relevance.

Mothra.

I think for some Pokémon that evolve in early levels like Marill-Azumarill and Wooper-Quagsire it is acceptable, because you are training the same Pokémon for the next 80 levels. It gives you something else to look forward to.

It would be cool but it would be too much power on some Pokemon. Of course D-Nite and other really good Pokemon won't be having Stage 3 (TCG-wise). Except Flygon to wreck everything
