Whats the deal with Salamence?

So I pulled the X, and built the deck. The thing is I can't really get it to work. I tried PA Salamamence with delcatty and with unown A. I tried it with Lux GL. Currently I'm running it with Spirtomb and 3 SF. Either I'm jinxed or the deck just doesn't work. Anybody have any better luck with it?

I don't see why people really run Unown A. I understand the purpose of it (for Salamence PA's Power) but it's just two cards. Odds are neither might be energy.

I played Salamence before, and the results were good, but not too great. It seems to me if you have a bad start, a deck like Salamence just won't do all too well. Perhaps you should try 2 SF, 1 PA, and 1-1 Delcatty. That's what I ran, and it worked.

Its easier to get out. Thats really it. It may not guarantee an energy like delcatty, but it can at leat make sure you don't discard your luxury ball :p

I would check this out:

Salamance to me is one of those cards that you know is just fantastic, but youjust cant seem to put your finger on a build for it. Like whatever you build you feel there is something else that would make it so much better, ya know? I read the article and got a lot of good ideas so check that out.

I found that another big problem is that once you get knocked out, it's hard to come back because you have to set up another Salamence.

Salamence may become more viable in HG/SS though, there are some decent energy accelerators in the set.

Usually energy isn't the problem. Its getting out the salamance itself thats difficult IMO.

My salamence build seems to work fine for me. I don't use Delcatty PL because a self-harming, low HP pokemon isn't a good card in my books. The problem is that it's hard to tech in anything because of its energy requirement, the best tech i've found to be useful is Nidoqueen RR as i want to keep sally alive for as long as possible making it easier to set up a benched sally. I use this pokemon line

3-2-2/1-1 Salamence lvX [SW-PA-SF/PA-PA]
1-0-1 Nidoqueen RR
2-2 Claydol GE
1 Ditto LA
1 Uxie LA
1 Azelf LA
1 Unown G

It works fine for me and i barely get bad starts (though if i do get one it isn't hard to recover from it). Just be sure to max out Call energy.

I used 2 of the SF Salamence and 1 of the SW Salamence along with the LvX in last week's City Championship

I helped him along with Togekiss

It worked well - I went 2-2 - the games I lost were VERY close ("coin flip" close)

Me and My bro made 5 decks one of them was sally

Each of us got 4 time playing this deck againts each other

and the record was Sally win all match 8-0

We combo sally with catty, and claydol..

Starting with Spritomb would be good

I think you really just need to focus on nailing the three KOs to win, even if you are only getting off salamence's first move (the [F][C] one).

I am not too fond of the PA Sally, but when you get four prizes you feel so cool.

The only advice I have to offer is doing what Seth1789110 said and reading my article.

I know the list looks odd, but your going to have to trust it. It works well.
