What's Tourney Legal?

I have been gone from Pokemon for a while and I need to know what SETS are tourney legal.

POP series 8
POP series 9

Obviously, any original cards that were reprinted in current sets (such as a Charizard from Diamond & Pearl: Stormfront) will be legal for tourney play usually with few exceptions. Sometimes requires a reference. If there's anything else I missed or that you need to know, just ask.

What Gailfail said and there's also some other league promos (only Snorlax and Uxie as of now), even though they are technically reprints. Also, note that Arceus hasn't yet been officially released, the prereleases are still going on. It won't be tournament legal until the official release date.

Awesome! Thanks a bunch! One more question...Since they did not rotate this time around, will they rotate 3 sets come 2010 Worlds or 6 to make up for lost ground?

It's unclear as of right now. They will most likely rotate all of the Diamond and Pearl sets to keep the era fresh with Platinum and Heart Gold Soul Silver.

for cities and stuff alot of the staple cards for the current format are from dp sets, so that really depends, i would kinda advise buying platinum on and then buying individual dp set cards to build your competitive deck for the time being. it could prevent you from buying multitudes of cards that arent gonna be playable for very much longer.
