Which decks can you see doing well in HP-On Format?

So with the downfall of the Holon Engine and several other key cards/decks (Mew Ex, Banette Ex, Metanite, Lunarock, Houndoom varieties, Dustox Ex) and the weakening of other decks (Raieggs losing Holon Engine AND Cursed Stone might be too much for them), which decks do you think will work well in HP-On, based on the knowledge we have of cards up till DP2? I'll try and keep a list.

These are the ones I can see despite my somewhat limited knowledge on DP/DP2...

- Flygon Delta Ex. He's nigh unharmed, tho lack of Holon Engine might hurt him. Still has Fearow tho...
- Salamence Ex. With some non-supporter get cards back to deck cards, its possible to work around those HUGE discards.
- Gardevoir Ex. Psychic weakness is less of an issue with Metal becoming Psy resist and Banette/Mew gone. Imprison is just own
- Infernape/Delcatty. We all know this one, right?
- Machamp/Lucario. While I don't know MUCH of it, I heard its pretty strong
- QueenGatr. Psy weakness explained with Gardevoir, Lightning Weakness aint as bad either with Metanite swept away.
- Exeggutor varieties. It's still a good card. Be it RaiEggs or FeralEggs.
- Stage 2 Ex varieties working with Altaria. Enough stage 2 Ex's will LOVE the boost Altaria gives them.

THE LIST SO FAR IMHO:
- Flygon Ex
- Queengon
- Salamence Ex PK builds (Needs time to be tweaked though)
- Gardevoir Ex builds
- T2 Infernape decks
- Inferncatty
- Machamp/Lucario
- QueenGatr
- Nidoqueen varieties
- Exeggutor varieties
- Swarmdra
- Blissey DP2
- Laxblock
- Stage 2 Ex decks (Swarmdra? Shockwave? Exploud? Swampert?)

Everyone is welcome to add their expectations, just give arguments.

Kingdra ex d swarm. It was already good, but it's starter, Pinsir d, and searcher, Fearow d, aren't rotated. Plus with lightning being reduced in popularity with Metanite going it faces less of a weakness issue ... though IMHO the deck will NEED Cloyster d or else face a near autoloss to Gatr d decks.

I still think that Psi weakness will be an issue with Flygon ex d around.

I also think that DP2 will change things a LOT.  Blissy decks will get big ... ex cards will slowly start to become less valuable since some of the DP+ set cards are nearly as good but without the 2 prize cost.

Well, like I said, thanks to the Steel Resist Psychic thing and several big Psy attackers gone...yeah.

I'll note Kingdra and Blissey. And yes, Ex's will slowly wither but we're talking early format here as we can't look TOO far forward

For the moment this is pretty much all we have. Maybe it won't be that strong, but Snorlax lock should be here too in my opinion, even if I never played it.

Honestly, I can see a deck abusing Pidgeot d doing rather well in the format, what with all of the broken non-d powers.

Not quite sure if it can go well with anything but Flygon d, though..

So...I guess you could put R-gon on the list if you don't already classify it as a Flygon ex d deck.

The damage and HP standards are increasing in the new DP sets. i.e. you see non-EX Basics with 60-100 HP, Stage 1's with 80-120 HP, and Stage 2's peaking out way up at 140. And for two energy, Seaking does 50, Infernape does 90, Lucario does 40 and 20 to the bench, etc. For three energy, a few DP2 pokemon will do 100-110.

And let's not forget the big overhaul of the weakness/resistance system.

It's going to take a very well built EX-series deck to compete with cards created with these new standards in mind. Because if you're using EX-series cards, your stage 2's will only have slightly more HP and slightly more energy efficient attacks than their non EX counterparts, but they'll still be taking the double damage from weakness and the two prize card cost. Oh and a bunch of EX-series cards do extra effects vs Delta pokemon or Pokemon EX. These attacks, bodies, powers, etc. won't be as effective anymore.

EX-series decks are a sinking ship for all of these reasons on top of the loss of the Holon Engine.

FeralQueen is looking like a contender. But I'm sure that Mario(Lucario/Machamp) will win the first few cities until the top players come up with another new archetype for us all to rejoice about yet again. Basically, anything non-ex that can do big damage, major sniping, and disruption will be good. So you're looking at alot of options. And even though they're ex's, Jirachi and Shiftry will see play for sure. Along with R-Gon swarms.

There will be several Ex's still going strong, as they still pack considerate power. Thats what you shouldn't forget. Also note that the only reliable energy accelerators so far are Ex or Delta only.

Blaziken PK? Typhlosion DP2?

I've even seen one idea to use Magneton PK + Flygon d to power Electivire ... Flygon accelerates energy to self, Mags gets them out of the discard, & 'Vire moves them up to active. It's a clunky replacement for Dragonite d in the DragonVire or Electinite deck in an HP on format.

Well, those only power up the bench, which makes them less versatile. Gardevoir PK is one too but that packs too much damage. So for SOLID powerups for now, we're stuck with Altaria and Flygon
