I know I am thinking a while ahead, BUT....

Every Christmas my mom screws up on getting my gifts. So she has been giving me 200 bucks to buy my own gifts.

So this year was going to be dedicated to Pokemon Cards.

So I am going to buy 1 Booster Box. Here are the Choices:

GE Box
OR
LA Box

Which one should I choose. Pro's Cons of each below:

GE:
Pro: Claydol, Unown G, Rare Candy, Felicity's Drawing

LA:
Pro: Kingdra, Azelf, Uxie, Mesprit, And the Pixie X's

Which one? If I choose LA, I will just buy some RH Claydol from Ebay :p

There's a little something called "Looking around the forums".

Why not just get the 200 dollars? Boxes usually don't cost above 100 anyways, so you can get 2 with the money instead and have a little leftover.

But still, I was going to buy stuff I could use more, with the money. If I buy a second box it might be AoA.
And why would I buy the cards I want when I can buy the set. Why would I buy 1 Uxie LA when I can buy the booster box and have a chance for 5, lol.

I wouldn't get either, I'd get a Platinum series.
Reason being, all of the sets before SF are most likely going to be out of format next year.
SF probably will too. Platinum-on is probably going to be the format for next year.
I'd probably go RR or SV depending on what you need.

The key work being there is chance. There is also a chance you'll get 0 Uxie's. Plus every thing in GE and LA is pretty much useless/not as good as it once was.

You would be much better off buying the things you need seperately as it would end up being cheaper. Then you can spend the rest on another box, most preferably Platinum of Rising Rivals

Reasons for not doing certain sets:

Platinum:

I don't like any of them, and even the X's are not #1 on traders wants list.

Rising Rivals:

I already have almost every card. The only reason I would do thins is to finish my Quennage Monarchy Deck. But Luxray GL, Flygon, and Infernape 4 are BIG wants.

Supreme Victors:

I HATE THIS SET! The only thing I like is the art work! I probably hate every card. This was a failure, lol.

I might buy an Advent of Arceus set, then wait for the English form to come out, and buy that.

If you are looking to play go with a Platinum one if you are looking to collect go for the GE and LA ones.

And current boxes are sold on ebay for $85 and free shipping.

I don't see why you would buy a box for the chance of getting what you want (and a bunch of junk you didn't) instead of just buying the cards you want.

Agreeing with most here and saying to just buy what you want. 100 bucks gets you 2-2 claydol and most likely the main pokemon in your deck. Then just get a couple of trainers you're missing or whatever and you have a great deck...

Unless you're a collector, then I would get LA. Lots more lvX as well as pixies and kingdra, like you said.

Hm, I'm a collector, so I guess that's why I thought he should get a box.

Or I save lots of the money, for whenever Worlds is on the East Coast and by swag.... I might just buy staples, etc...
