Which sets can be used to make decks????

Okay,

So I've been collecting for a LONG time now, and I have THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of cards. I decdied earlier this week that I'm going to get into the battling scene (to battle and to try to get some trading in because I'm looking for ex and level x cards), and I was wondering which decks are allowed in the current battle for the pokemon league and for the official tournaments. Can you help me? I'm constructing a few decks so I can bring them with me to battle at a tournament this weekend. Also, can I bring more than one deck with me to a tournament?

you can bring more than one deck but you have to pick which one to use. You can use all cards from Diamond pearl and above.

You can bring one than one deck to a tournament, however you can only use 1 deck throughout the entire tournament - so no switching decks between rounds.

Also you have to follow the modified format if you're going to start going to tourneys and such - so anyhting from the Diamond and Pearl onwards is legal.

Modified Format is what Lou pointed out. It is the cards legal for play in a tourney.
