Hi everybody,

I am planning on buying my first gen V game but I can't decide between white or white 2. I can get white 2 for $30.- and white for $38,- so I am wondering if I can skip white to save some money. thanks in advance!

Kind regards,

RE: White or White 2

White 2 does pick-up where the first one leaves off in terms of storyline, but White is not necessary to enjoy the game. It feels like you have more variety in White 2 near the beginning of the game than in the original. Additionally, future events will be for BW2 anyway so I'd say to just get White 2.

RE: White or White 2

Pokemon white 1 was horrible. The storyline was obviously rushed. The pokemon availble suck. You can breeze through the game in about 5 hours, not that much post-game stuff.

W2 on the other hand, fixed all that was wrong, and made it MUCH better!

White 2.
But why would the newer game cost less? It doesn't make any sense.

yeah I know I can't figure it out either but you don't hear me complain ;)

I'd personally go with White 1 first, mostly because I like doing things in chronological order. But if you're just looking to break into Gen V and don't really care about things like that, yeah, White 2 is superior.

While the sequels have sold quite a bit, they (probably) haven't sold half of what the originals have sold, and they aren't really set up to be selling for years to come what with a whole new gen on the way and their nature of being sequels. Thus, they are thrown into the figurative bargain bin, where good deals are fairly easy to find and stock is plentiful. Best Buy was just having a clearance on BW2 for $15.

Get White 2. It's 10x better. Plus the Battle Arena is worth it all.

thank you

RE: White or White 2

I would get both Black and White 1 rather than the sequels because the sequels actually ruined Black City and White Forest. I don't have them but You cannot migrate to b/e 2 if you have White 1 and a 2 version. only 1's can migrate between White Forest Black City XD.:)

I would've gotten White 1 first. Although White 2 does have a better after game and fixes some of the problems with White 1 first, White 1 has a much better story and is overall better and more unique in my opinion, while White 2 just feels like another Pokemon game, then again though, these are just opinions. Although theres also some things you can't even do in White 2 if you don't have White 1.

BW1 were the only main-series Pokemon games to have a remotely decent story-line.
