True he has attempted to help the economy by making more jobs avalible

But why did he get the noble peace prize or whatever it's called
Even a monkey can get one

If anyone can tell me why Obama got it just lmk

He got it because he's the world-chosen president, and therefore he was destined to win it by the leaders of this world. [/conspiracy theory]

But on a more provable note, I am not sure why received it. How he has promoted peace will always be a mystery. He hasn't held to his promise that he would withdraw troops from Afghanistan: in fact, he just sent 30,000 over there.

I personally believe it is just a way to hype him up. Whoever gives out this award clearly wants the public to think well of Mr. Obama, and they will give him an award he doesn't deserve just to boost his steadily-declining approval rating.

Going with that they must give him the prize to make the demagrats feel good that they got there president something to gaze at and fell good that he has got something. Even though Obama just deployed troops to Irak. Anyway they gave this to obama to say

You have not done anything good nor most likely will so we have to give you something.

Joking aside, although obama has done a lot I don't think he was deserving of the prize. I guess its an insentive to finish what he's begun.

Also, the poll here is dumb. A more appropriate question would be "Do you think obama deserved the prize?"

Half the people on this site are kids. They dont have educated opinions on presidents and national topics and such. (no offence)

Unless your over the age of 15, anything you know, is probably influenced by your parents veiws.



To answer the poll, I dont mind obama. I dont like him, yet i dont dislike him either.

Bush left him a mess to clean up and if he doesnt succeed it will be ugly.


Anyways, he won that award because of somthing he did. They dont just give those out ya know.

Even Obama admitted he didn't think he really deserved the award.

Now I approve of what the man is doing. He's going to pull out of Iraq, and admittedly, and is sending people to Afghanistan, where an actual problem lies at this point. I'd rather not be involved altogether, but if we have to be, I'd still rather it be where a real problem is.

If your going to give awards for what someone intends to do, then I say that I should get it because I intend to end war, save africa from starvation, blahbhahbah... you get the point. :/

please explain to all these people on this board exactly what he did in his 10 days as president to promote him receiving this award.

At least I'm 13 and can spell "something" correctly.

Obama received this award based upon expectations of what people think he can do, not what he has done. Next topic please.

Edit: By the way, my parents are both Republicans, and I am a liberal. Although I'm young, I educate myself on politics as much as I can. I can also discuss them both intelligently and grammatically correct using my personal liberal views. =)

Um I'll start again. When I was about 12 I started to form my own views about life. The fact you say you must be 15 to have any political views is naive. The fact you say half the people on this site are kids is a stupid observation; there are plenty of older people here who are more than capable of discussing political and ethical topics here.

I just want to address this for one moment. Do you want to be smart or stupid? Because that's what school is supposed to do. I'd rather have smart people working than dumb people not. There's really no bad side effects for more school, only good ones. That's all.

Summer vacation I'm okay with it's just weekends I'm not ok with
But it don't matter to me because I'm graduating in April

Well, from the last thread that was a few months ago about this topic, he didn't officially say anything was going to be done for sure. Just like everything he's said save for a couple items. He was just planning his thoughts out and telling people but there's no reason to be angry about him doing something that might actually help people.

Well, I'd like to say that there's a reason why the dumb people are dumb and the smart people are smart. There are just some that, no matter how much you drill down their throats, just never get it. To counter the "no bad side effects", teachers and students would both feel burned out eventually, making the idea of more school meaningless as well as adding unnecessary stress to students and faculty. Additionally, I would like as much free time as possible to get prepared for my future - time that I just don't have thanks to an increasingly hectic schedule.

Back on topic: I don't know why Obama got the Nobel Peace Prize, nor do I care. The Prize is nothing more than a joke now.

That's only some people, like maybe 5-10%, but it'd be interesting to see the results, which none of us have seen yet, so no one can judge.

Who were you referring to there?

I actually wouldn't mind year-round school, but only if we had breaks more often. I'm opposed to a two-month long break myself; that certainly doesn't help the pressed-for-time teachers, who sometimes have to reteach some of the stuff that was forgotten.
 
I think year round school is a good idea

Anyone who says that he deserved it based on his intentions needs to seriously re think how the world works. Intentions mean NOTHING until they are carried out.

For examply, I intend to make a 100Trillion dollars and give away all of it to charity! OMG! I should get the peace prize!!! I just OUT DID Obama with MY good intention.

See the problem with this logic... :/

And hey, I never said he deserved it. I also never said he didnt.

No, my observation is perfectly valid.

This is a POKEMON forum. Sure, this particular section of the site is for anything, but the site is for pokemon.
There are tons of kids here as well as adults.

Political topics can lead to flame wars. Just like anything else. Why do you think adults make an effore NOT to talk about political veiws around everyone?

And in no way am I saying dont talk here, just be careful. Thats all.
