A trainer must have some game effect to be used. You have to discard at least 1 stadium/tool to play it.
Well, playing windstorm without discarding tools/stadiums is pretty much the same theory as playing claydol and not putting back any cards back into your deck and using holon mentor to not search for anything. All of the following says ''up to'' and that doesn't include 0.
^You can't use claydol's power and not put anything on the bottom of the deck to draw as it has a conditional phrase. You can mentor and discard a card but not get any basic pokemon.
Yeah, I know about the claydol thing. I was comparing that with windstorm. Same theory there.
But I didn't know about mentor...Thanks for telling. For got about the 'everything in your deck is mysterious. You opponent doesn't know what's in there so you can play mentor and not search for anything' thing.
