The artwork for Worlds 2025 in Anaheim, California has been revealed! The theme appears to be SoCal drive-thru dining, like In N Out or Sonic.

An interest list to attend Worlds as a spectator will open in March. There will be no cap to how many fans can sign up for the interest list. Once the interest list is open, there will be an extended amount of time to sign up.
Worlds 2025 will be held from August 15th to 17th in Anaheim, California.

What does the interest registration mean? If you sign up is there still a chance you can’t attend if they don’t pick you kinda thing?
with how crazy everything is, it's probably to guage how to sell the spectator passes. will probs be a raffle again let's be real. hopefully it can be for other things like if they need to expand the venue for non-participants somehow cuz it's still a long time before the actual event.

i've seen this in the leaks already but i'll say it again: meowth can drive?! and also the artists drew the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car lol. probs based it on how japanese cars are and not american cars.

Really random but can spectators participate in the “side events” and manage to get a “worlds championship promo” or do only the active participants in the championship get them? These California ones are the only ones that seem feasible for me to get too so if that’s possible I’m going to hope/wish/dream even harder for that ticket 😭

That’s actually kind of neat art-wise, the clothes that the Pokémon are wearing (barring Frankie, Vanillite, and Murkrow) give them a Beverly Hills high school vibe.

The neon signs are a nice touch too, although I’d compare it to LA driving culture in general than singling out drive-thru/drive-in dining (especially with a sleeping Snorlax on one of ‘em, that screams drive-in motels).

The interest list is nice but I’m really worried about scalpers and the ever-brainless investorbros swooping in on the list and TPCi possibly turning Worlds into an invite-only as a response to it. Time will tell.

the last two worlds were invite only iirc so i think this year will 99.9% be the same especially with the current environment. and yeah hope it isn't mostly scalpers looking to clear out the event store and resell all the goodies :c

Yes, you can participate in the side events, and yes the worlds promo has generally been available on the prize wall.

This methodology of limiting spectators is especially important considering the undesired attention the game is getting, and the fact that it's Anaheim, which is in close proximity to a certain "happiest place on earth."

I probably should've worded this better, by invite-only I meant restricting the event to competitors.

Eh, I'm less bothered with it being a stone's throw away from Disneyland. Remember that this is the third time Worlds is being hosted in Anaheim, the first was back in 2006 and the second was in 2017.

What bothers me is that it's a stone's throw away from Frank & Son's.

Will an announcement be made on this site when the interest list opens up? Or where should I be looking for this? I live close to Anaheim so I want to drag my partner there with me if I can!! I'm so excited!!!

Dang, traveling from Europe to California is too much money for my broke ahh. Also,I'm not sure if I have to study for university in August.
Maybe next year.

Just one person's experience, but – I was lucky to get spectator tickets and Pokemon Center Store tickets to last year's Worlds in Honolulu (yes, they were separate lotteries). I was so stoked for the chance to get *something* at the store, but the lottery system didn't effectively combat scalping. The store was picked through pretty early into the comp weekend and line management was nonexistent. I passed on waiting hours in the PC store line.

Here's hoping this year's anti-scalping tactics are more effective :/

I feel like the number of scalpers is too big to stop them. There's many wannabe scalpers that cant compete with the big ones so theyll use this event as an opportunity to grab stock. I wouldn't hold my breath

This is TPCi we're talking about here, any anti-scalping measurements won't work and there's a good chance the volunteers are also scalpers. The only way one could curb it is if TPCi hired armed security personnel to manhandle any scalpers six ways from Sunday.
