Yanmega Prime

Do you think Yanmega Prime has potential?

I can see it working with shaymin lv x for extra hp and expert belt making yanmega quite a beast with 170 HP. Also Staraptor fb lv x to get the supporter you want such as copycat to be able to attack with yanmega. VS Seeker to reuse those copycats. What other pokemons or cards would work well with the strategy? Possibly cards like judge to lower their hand size and adjust from there?

yanmega has 110 hp +40 hp from shaymin making it 150 hp. +20 hp from expert belt makes it 170 hp

don't even bother with staraptor, it's pretty much useless in this deck with you run 4 of every supporter you need(4 judge, 4 copycat).

I like yanmega though, defiently run a 1-1 or a 2-2 of sunflora hgss to get a swarm going. The only problem is that he is only doing 90 damage max with expert belt, still pretty deadly for no energy though :)

I don't think this deck is as good as it's made out to be because you use up your one supporter per turn getting the card amount you need, but...
4 Judge
4 Copycat
4 Vs. Seeker
4 Junk arm (to get back used Vs. Seeker. This way, you can use the supporters 16 times for no-energy attacking)
And of course the usual staple cards. (Uxie, collector...) I would add in energy just in case, but not too many. Perhaps Machamp SF as a counter to electric-types, which this deck will be killed by?

Run 1-1 Blaziken FB LV.X to counter Dialga G. Otherwise, this deck gets completely screwed by it.

Noooo no Vileplume. That would kill you. This deck gets almost NO drawpower from Supporters (honestly, if I'm playing vs. Yanmega, I'll try to get my hand as low as possible so if all they have is Copycat, they get just 1 card to work with next turn...). The only way to draw is to use trainers to get the cards you need and try to get your hand equal to your opponent's. In fact, I would think this deck would use trainers more than most others (Vs. Seeker? Junk Arm? Communications?)

yeah trainer cards like junk arm, vs seeker, expert belt, communications, super scoop up are all good and usable cards in this deck.
I can see a mini sp engine being great in this deck. 4 poke turns, 2 crobat g and 3-4 cyrus to help find poketurns and copycat. Even chatot g could be good in this deck since you dont want them to get cards that changes their hand like cynthias and prof oaks and it really helps with the disruption if your gonna judge alot.

true. But almost all decks have ways to change the cards in their hand, whether it's attaching cards, using trainers or supporters, using stadiums, etc.

In this format, Yanmega Prime is horrible. Yanmega Prime has weakness to Lightning, and it's attack is not enough to one shot much. I'd try using this deck in GS on, it'd be wonderful!

uhmm I was thinking of going with 4 unown R instead of staraptor fb x and use shaymin x instead of staraptor. Unown R combined with pokemon rescue gives great draw power and adds to the recovery of the deck since you play pokemon rescue and can also play rescue energy easy. Uhmm maybe a 2-1-2 or 1-0-1 machamp line is a good idea since the deck may struggle against luxchomp and will struggle against dialgachomp, I also think that pokemon reversals can be good for this deck especially against dialgachomp if your gonna play with machamp. With the deck being run with mostly trainers I guess you suffer a close autolose to vilegar, but I prefer having good counters against sp and being fast against other decks better then losing most of the time against vilegar, and If they dont start with a trainer lock t1 you may have a chance.

Vilear wins. Without trainers, this deck has no drawpower except Uxie, which still isn't a whole lot (plus then you have to match your opponent's hand...). So good luck getting the same number of cards in-hand without being able to use trainers...

yeah thats what im saying, the deck loses against vilegar but like I said I will probably be using unown R

I have tried Dodrio (Echo-Draw) and Noctowl HS in order to draw cards. Mespirit is also a good idea for this deck because it can do 70 dmg/turn when you are recovering lost Yanmega Primes.
As far as trainers, adding 4 poke-drawer + can really manipulate your hand size and help you use Yanmega Prime efficiently.

Uhmm do you think yanmega could work well with jumpluff?? it gives more options and just gives you another fast heavy attacker when u cant get the knockout on the opponent or cant get the same handsize. Pair that up with vileplume or-and shaymin x and I think it could work. Vileplume just helps against that sp matchup and you could add 2-2 sunflora for the consistency and it lets you add a card to your hand which makes things easier for yanmega prime to attack. Uhmm it might be clunky but a very well built decklist could work im pretty sure.

Vileplume's interesting. I think it could work; one problem would be not getting almost ANY drawpower whatsoever because you can't play trainers and your supporters tend to be Judge/Copycat.
Also, with Vileplume, you can't use VS. Seeker or Junk Arm, which is a real pain to this deck.
Now that I think about it, Jumpluff's just sort of better in general. You won't be hitting for less than 70 with even an awful setup and it's 1 energy, plus you get drawpower from supporters (not having to use Judge/Copycat every turn). Jumpluff's just sort of better without Yanmega; too may lines makes it clunky.

uhmm yeah well vileplume makes it slower but it does help against sp matchups. And you shouldnt be worried about vs seeker not being used since when u cant pulloff the same hand well just attack with jumpluff. But I think ill start testing with only jumpluff and see how it goes from there, what would the best lines be?? 4-4 yanmega 2-2-2 jumpluff? or 3-3 yanmega 3-3-3 jumpluff or 3-2-3?? Ill try it with 2-2 sunflora, 1-1 shaymin x and the usual consistency pokemons (2 uxie, 1 smeargle, 1 azelf, 1 unown q and maybe 1 crobat g) trainer line might look like this:
- 4 copycat
- 4 judge
- 2-3 vs seeker
- maybe 2 seeker since it helps healing and getting the same hand size
- 2-3 lookers investigation, again it helps with getting the same hand size and it disrupts
- 3-4 communication
- 3-4 bebes
- 4 collector
- 1-2 palmers
- maybe 4 pokemon reversal for easy kos

and what else would be good in here??
