Traveling Storyteller and Card Faker
Pokemon: 16
Strategy:
Cobalion's Second Attack, Iron Breaker, does 80 damage and prevents the defending Pokemon from attacking. The only way to get around that effect is to Switch out that Pokemon. This deck uses the ever-popular LaserBank strategy in sync with Dragalge, which prevents Poisoned Pokemon from retreating. Raichu is a Pyroar counter and a much faster and stronger attacker in comparison to Cobalion(Yes, I know, I could always use Beartic, but Raichu will almost always deal 100, while Beartic will usually only hit for about 40-60 against anything else.). Bronzong can Recycle Energy, which is always nice.
For the Trainer cards, I'm going to be making use of Last Seeker, a new tech that uses Lysandre's Last Resort and VS Seeker as a way of permanently recycling the deck. Because of this, our Supporter Line is a bit lower than usual, since we run VS Seeker anyway. Max Potion can be used to Heal a Pokemon, than return any Energy attached to it straight back to said Pokemon with Bronzong.
Struggle:
This deck has a lot of trouble with Garbodor, which completely shuts off our locking strategy and Energy Acceleration. We use 2 Startling Megaphones and Lost Seeker to make sure it's never a problem. Pyroar also is a huge threat, which is why we use Raichu. Also, while Lost Seeker is a fantastic combo that eliminates Mill Decks and allows us to permanently recycle Item Cards and the like, it has two problems. The first is that we have to shuffle our opponent's deck as well, which can be very devastating. The second is that if we don't have Metal Energy attached to our Pokemon, then Last Resort will shuffle in our energy, meaning we have to use Battle Compressor or Ultra Ball to Accelerate again.
Final Thoughts:
This is a deck that I look forward to using. It may not be fantastic, but it has lots of interesting quirks to make it exactly what I want it to be: FUN. It is not meant to be a Tournament Winner or a stereotype, but this is something that I would love to start using.
