Pokemon: 12
3x Yveltal EX
2x Trubbish
2x Garbodor BKP
2x Yveltal BKT
1x Yveltal XY
1x Sableye GUR
1x Shaymin EX

Trainers: 36
4x Professor Sycamore
3x N
1x Lysandre
1x Team Flare Grunt
1x Teammates
1x Hex Maniac

4x Ultra Ball
3x VS Seeker
3x Fighting Fury Belt
3x Float Stone
3x Max Elixir
2x Enhanced Hammer
2x Trainers' Mail
1x Field Blower
1x Rescue Stretcher

2x Altar of the Moone
1x Reverse Valley

Energy: 12
8x Darkness Energy
4x Double Colorless Energy

Strategy:
The strategy behind this deck is very similar to that of most previous Yvel/Garb decks. The way this deck plays is quite simple. Throw energy onto Yveltal EX, set up Garbodor to remove abilities from play, use XY Yveltal to keep darkness energies in play, and use Max Elixir to attach energies to Yveltal EX. BKP Yveltal is the deck's main non-EX attacker, which does 60 to the opponent's active and 60 to one of their benched EX Pokemon. The deck also runs Sableye, which is used to prevent the opponent to use Supporters right away and prevents your valuable benched Pokemon such as the Trubbish or Yveltal you're trying to set up be Lysandre'd, prevents being N'd out of a good hand, etc. (keep in mind this can't be avoided using Pokemon Ranger, as that in itself is a Supporter)
The deck also runs Altar of the Moone instead of the average Parallel City. Altar of the Moone works similarly like Darkrai EX from Dark Explorers, which reduces the retreat cost of all Pokemon with Darkness (or Psychic) Energy attached by two. Unlike Darkrai, it doesn't remove the retreat cost entirely, however, all of the Pokemon (aside from Garbodor, of course) have a retreat cost of two or less.

I'd like to hear your thoughts or suggestions on what could make the deck better. Thank you!

Hi TSA123,

Nice deck. Not sure whether all the Pokémon chosen are still viable. Break Point Yveltal lost a lot since GX became more common than EX. Not sure about Sableye either. The deck could use an attacker able to ohko the opponent. With this in mind consider these modifications:

Pokemon:

- 2 Yveltal BKT
- 1 Sableye GUR

+ 2 Yveltal XY (nice acceleration with Altar of the Moone and could combo well with Drampa GX as an additional attacker)
+ 2 Drampa GX (Berserker should work real well in this deck since you want to start with Yveltal XY to accelerate to the bench and retreat it after the first hit)
+ 1 Shaymin Ex (to secure a draw engine when needed)

This increases the Pokémon count to 14. I would take out two items to make room for the increased Pokémon count.

Trainers:
- 1 Team Flare Grunt (not needed that bad with a decent cleaner)
+ 1 Professor Kukui (nice beatdown boost in addition to Fighting Fury Belt and Choice Band)

- 1 Fighting Fury Belt (Choice band can be better from time to time; especially with Drampa GX hitting for 180 if you have a damaged Pokémon on the bench)
- 1 Enhanced Hammer (one should be sufficient since this can become a dead card against decks running only basic energy)
- 2 Trainer's Mail (this is a three or none card for me and I wanted to reduce the item count)

+ 2 Choice Band (massive damage boost and awesome with Drampa GX)

To compensate for the increase in the number of Pokémon I reduced the item count of your deck by two. I would even consider to loose both Enhanced Hammers for a second Field Blower unless special energy is common in your meta. You could also consider to loose Reverse Valley and run a third Altar of the Moone to enable the entire team to retreat for free.

Hope this provides some initial assistance.

Nice list.

From my experience, I would not run only 1 Lysandre. Should it ever be prized, you could potentially lose one of the most valuable resources in the game. I feel it's that important to run 2 copies of Lysandre.

Secondly, 2 Trainer's Mail seems insufficient to get solid, effective results.

I'd suggest the following deck changes for your consideration:

-2 Trainer's Mail

+1 Lysandre
+1 VS Seeker

Lastly, I do think that Yveltal (BKT) is not as effective as it once was given the popularity of so many GX Pokémon; so, its count should be reduced to just 1. I'd suggest replacing this 1 Yveltal (BKT) with either a Darkrai EX, Special Charge, Tauros GX, or Yveltal (XY).

I hope you find these comments helpful.

Okay, I played Yveltal for Dallas, and months before and after that event, so trust me when I say that I'm experienced. Like Dark Espeon said, Fright Night lost a lot of power since GX's are in the game(and taking it by storm) now. But disagree with a lot he said. Yveltal is a deck where you DON"T want very many Pokemon, 12 at most I'd say.
And baby Yveltal is something you only want as a one-of, since you should be playing 4 of the EX. I was very skeptical of the idea at first, but it's the most powerful attacker in the deck, and one of the most powerful in the game. Drampa is something I didn't think about, but it's actually a really great idea, since it gives the deck a powerful, non-lightning weak attcker that discards special energy AND can use a GX attack. Altar of the Moone seems like a good idea, but Parallel City is still a must since it gives you a way to discard damaged Pokemon, Shaymins, and gives you an out to Decidueye and Mega Ray. Rescue Stretcher is just leagues down from Super Rod, and that is something you definitely should do if you want to use the deck in any sort of competitive scene whatsoever. Here's a list I would suggest:

Pokemon:11
4 Yveltal EX
1 Yveltal XY
1 Drampa GX
2 Trubbish
1 Garbodor
2 Shaymin EX

Trainers:36
4 Sycamore
3 N
1 Kukui
2 Lysandre
1 Olympia
2 Parallel City
2 Fighting Fury Belt
1 Choice Band
3 Float Stone
4 Ultra Ball
4 VS Seeker
4 Max Elixir
2 Trainers' Mail
1 Enhanced Hammer
1 Field Blower
1 Super Rod

Energy:13
9 Dark
4 DCE

As much as I would like to play the third stadium, space is tight, and most of this stuff is a must have. The 9th Dark energy is completely necessary, since you need to have a way to hit all of your Elixirs and draw into to them to use Oblivion Wing. I only included one Garbodor because that's all you need. You really only play it for a few matchups, where it will barely even matter, since Decidueye, Mega Ray, and Volcanion all have easy ways to kill it anyway. You can interpret the list the way you like, and even add the Hex, which is something I suggest you do, since with the one Garb and the Hex combined, it should be easier to win those matchups. The Choice Band is something I really like as a one-of, since the extra 20 damage is like having another energy one there with a Fury Belt. Combined with Kukui(which is a card I like in Yveltal) can do massive damage for less energy than you'd normally need. Even though I'm using reasoning as much as possible, much of what I'm telling IS biased, so keep that in mind when you think about all this. Good luck

Changes:
-1 Yveltal BKP
-1 Baby Yveltal
-1 Sableye

-1 Teammates
-1 N

-1 FFB
-1 Enhanced Hammer

-1 Reverse Valley

+1 Tauros GX
+1 Drampa GX
+1 Tapu Lele GX

+1 Lysandre

+1 Max Elixir
+1 Choice Band

+1 Parallel City

+1 Dark Energy

Exclusions:
Explanation: Yveltal is a deck with a better chance in the current format with the decline of Turbo Dark, one of its worst matchups. The biggest strength of this deck is its ability to adapt to what ever situation it is placed into, and my lists reflect that.

Pokemon: Yveltal BKT is a phenomenal card, but with the rise of GXs, its snipe is made a lot less effective. I would cut to only one in the list, because its still a card that can single handedly win matches. Baby yveltal isnt necessary, you will vary seldom run out of energies. Most modern yveltal lists have cut it. Sableye is an interesting card, but there are cards that are better fit for this list.

Supporters: Teammates becomes a vary situational card when you run a deck with pokemon that are not being one shoted. Also in most situations, you will get more utility off a sycamore and getting 7 new cards. Also one N may be cut due to the inclusion of Tapu Lele.

Trainers: 1 FFB is dropped for a more versatile line of tools with 2 FFB and 1 Band. Also dropping an enhanced hammer frees up a slot. Enhanced is a dead card in a lot of matchups, though is still valuable.

Stadiums: Reverse valley barely adds anything to the deck and there are better inclusions.

Inclusions:
Pokemon: Tauros GX is a good inclusion due to the fact your opponent is forced to play around it. Decks with a limited damage output can be forced into situations were they have to attack the tauros and you can take a revenge KO. Drampa is a great inclusion as well. It let you attack for a consistent 150 against owls, gives you energy disruption and an amazing draw option. Tapu Lele improves the constancy of the deck and offers another alternate attacker.

Supports: 2 Lysandre is a must in almost all decks.

Trainers: 4 Max Elixirs provide more consist ant energy acceleration and a choice band gives a more versatile tool count.

Stadiums: Parallel city improves multiple matchups, such as ray and volc. Also it can be used to bump damaged pokemon or Shaymin.

Energy: 9 Dark lets you hit elixirs more consistently.

Additional Options: Skyla (Skyla allows you to get one of trainers off of lele)
3rd Lysandre (Lysandre helps to improve the Owls matchup)
2nd Shaymin (Boosts constancy)
3rd N (To help boost consistency)
2nd parallel (Improves ray matchup)
Drampa Tauros split (Your choice of what line you run of these)
