Ruling Zapdos G

I was reading the translations for AoA and I noticed Zapdos G.
It's attack says discard all "Lightning Energy" , what if you attached all SP Energy and/or Rainbow Energy and used them as Lightning Energy?
Would you have to discard those to get the added effect?

They provide Lightning energy don't they? Yes, they would get discarded.
