Standard Zygarde EX / Carbink BREAK / Regirock EX

I prefixed this thread 'Standard' because it will be in about a month.

Alright, so I recently bought the Japanese Zygarde EX Perfect Battle Deck, and I've found that it's a fairly good deck. What I've done is I've combined 3 Japanese decks (Mega Rayquaza, Hyper Metal Chain, and Zygarde) to make this deck. Right now most of the Pokémon aren't released yet in English, so I'll give translations for them here by linking.

Pokémon:
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums:
  • 2 Lysandre
  • 2 N
  • 2 Professor Birch's Observations
  • 3 Professor Sycamore
  • 2 Tierno
  • 2 Pokémon Catcher
  • 1 Power Memory
  • 2 Red Card
  • 2 Roller Skates
  • 2 Switch
  • 4 Ultra Ball
  • 2 VS Seeker
  • 2 Scorched Earth
Energy:
  • 2 Strong Energy
  • 1 Fire Energy
  • 7 Fighting Energy
  • 5 Metal Energy
Strategy:

So... I know this might not be the best way to start a Zygarde deck, but I wanted to see what I could build with three Japanese decks. I'm not sure what to add/remove, so any ideas there would be helpful.

Anyway, strategy is just get both Regirocks on the Bench and a Zygarde in the Active. Then keep attaching Energy (and attach Power Memory) and using All Cells Burn. If you get attack-locked, Switch into Diglett and retreat for free. Use Carbink as a shield to prevent damage for a while if your opponent is using EXs (ok, maybe not too long with all those Lysandres around <_<). BREAK evolve to accelerate Energy on to the Bench.

After some poking around, I've decided to drop the Victini and Fire Energy for Lucario EX and 2 Strong Energy. I also have a feeling that I should include a Fighting Stadium or two. I might also want to up the Switch count so I can Metal Links for T2 Land's Wrath or All Cells Burn.

How does that sound? I'm actually going on just gut feeling since I've never been to an actual tournament (only been to prereleases). I'd love to go to a tournament, but I have close to no money :(.

I like the idea of this deck, but to improve it, you'll need cards aside from the Japanese starter decks.

Thoughts (and I ahven't done the math on the deck to make it 60 cards):
+ 2x Shaymin-EX
+2x Carbink (Safeguard)
+1-2x Carbink BREAK

+ 1x Power Memory
+ 3x Fighting Fury Belt
+ 3 Wally
+ 2 Strong Energy
+ 2 VS Seeker
+ 4 Battle Compressor
+ 2x Float Stone
+2-4x Fighting Staduim
+1x Skyla

- 2x Pokémon Catcher
- 2x Red Card
- 2x Roller Skates
- 2x Switch
- 2x Birch
- 2x Tierno
- 1x Fire Energy
- 1x Fighting Energy
- 5x Metal Energy
- 2x Victini (RSK)
- 2x Diglett
- 2x Bronzor (PHF)
- 2x Bronzong (PHF)
- 1x Klefki (PHF)

How I would play and build this deck would be to go 2nd, start with Carbink, Shaymin for Setup, Wally to Carbink Break T1, Battle Compressor some Strong Energy, get a Zygarde on the bench, and use Carbink Break's attack to get Strong energy on your Zygarde.

Skyla to search out Power Memory / Fighting Fury belt. If the opponent looks like smaller attackers, FF Belt will put you above Night March attacks. If you're fighting against EX's, Power Memory might be necessary so search it out with Skyla and beat things up.

Yeah, I figured as much xD. I kinda like the feel of the Japanese cards... so shiny and smooth, lol. I'll have to wait until Fates Collide is released to get some of the cards you mentioned reliably.

I have one Shaymin, 3 Battle Compressor, 1 Float Stone, just barely 3 Wally (unfortunately they're being used in another deck at the moment D: ), 5 VS Seeker total, and the other cards I have enough of. The problem for me is money, I guess. I... uh... suppose I didn't need to buy that AoPK booster box... '_'

Anyway, I make do with proxies (actually I just photocopy my existing cards xD) until I can get the money to buy the cards I need (and then sometimes I don't even buy cards I need, lol).

Thanks for the input! I appreciate it :3.

No problem! I really liked the Japanese Zygarde theme deck too. I've been kinda playing it with a friend against other Japanese theme decks (slightly modified). I agree that the Japanese cards feel so nice... the plastic feel is nice, the foil cards look better... anyway

A zorua / Rush In Zoroark might help with the switching thing. There needs to be a way to get Zygarde back to bench and Carbink back to active if you use the Power Memory attach.

And by no means is my deck suggestion perfect, but you did ask for input :)

Yeah, I was thinking about adding Zoroark. Though I'd have to actually buy/pull one first. I have less than 100 cards from BKT, lol.

Anyway... I got to thinking, and I realized that you can (with some assistance from Sky Field and Maxie's) reach a maximum output of 400 damage (800 if weakness comes into play). Zygarde with Power Memory and 4 Strong Energy, 4 Regirock EX and 4 Machamp FFI on the Bench = 200 + 80 + 40 + 80 = 400. Of course, it's so unlikely it's not even funny. Plus it's not necessary... but it's fun, right? :D.
